Sharing Quilt Projects #18

Many of you have said you really like it and I hope to see many of them!
It is hard to believe we are at the end of January already! Are you staying warm? We are under a weather alert today as snow and ice are expected. I think I’ll stay in my quilt studio and just work with bright colorful fabrics that remind me of spring.
On the home front
We have snow! I had Builder Bob stand in the path that goes to my bird feeders so you could see how much snow we have! We are supposed to get 8 inches more today.
New kitchen sink
Builder Bob has been busy and we now have a new kitchen sink! When he is Chef Bob, he uses a lot of big pans and it is so easy to wash them now.
I have had a lot of people asking about our new sink so I thought it would be easier to just put the info in this post. Our daughter and I bought the same sink at Menards. Builder Bob installed hers first and had to cut the opening in the counter bigger and also ours so be prepared to do this.
It includes a cutting board, rinse basket, a rack that rolls up for dishes, and sink grid which I didn’t have in for this photo. All of the pieces are removable. It also came with the faucet but I had already bought the one shown so we used it. My daughter used the one that came with the sink and loves it. Tuscany Sink at Menards
I originally was going to buy the sink from Lowes, that one did not come with a faucet which is why I already had bought one. I’m not sure if you would have to cut your counter for this one. Sink at Lowes
New kitchen table
We also have a new kitchen table! Actually it was my daughter’s table and we swapped. We decided we needed a bigger table and this one expands and has six chairs. She has always loved our kitchen table that we bought for the other house and it is perfect for her house.
I already have my Heart Valentine table runner out!
Thank goodness for Builder Bob’s old truck, yesterday we hauled our table to her house and picked up hers. Good thing he was there as her front door had to be removed to get our table in.
I already miss the shelves at the end of the table. I always kept our placemats there.
Notice who grabbed my new Heart table runner! She also took the wall hanging.
My Quilt Projects
What have I been working on? Gosh I’ve been doing things around the house so not as much quilting has been happening as I would like. I pulled out about 5 boxes of “stuff” that I haven’t looked at in a long time.
I found quilt tops and projects I had forgotten about. Several of them are what I’m going to work on now.
I found a pile of blocks that were leftover from my Moon Glow baby quilt. Do you know how old these blocks are? I made that baby quilt in 2012. I still love the colors and the pop of black. I think this was the first bundle of fat quarters I ever bought from Connecting Threads.
I am finishing up a table runner and then I’ll be working on placemats for the last four blocks.
Quilt Projects shared with me
It is always so much fun to see all of the beautiful quilt projects that you are making! f I didn’t show yours, I am so sorry and will try and get them in my next sharing post.
Christmas Truck Table Runner
Melanie this neat Christmas truck table runner that she made with my Christmas Truck table runner tutorial. She used an orphan block in the center! What a great idea!
Twisting Heart Valentine Tutorial
Mary shared her beautiful Twisting Heart wall hanging. She said she pieced it last year, finally quilted it this week and it is now hanging on her wall for Valentine’s Day. Beautiful colors! The Twisting Heart Valentine tutorial is always a favorite.
Twisting Heart Valentine Pillow
Nancy made an 18-inch pillow for her granddaughter with the Twisting Heart tutorial. This is a great idea if you aren’t interested in making a wall hanging. She said she was comfortable free motion quilting it so she followed the seams and quilted it that way. Beautiful and I love the heart border!
Autumn Table Runner
Kathy shared photos of her beautiful table runner made with my Autumn Table Runner tutorial. It is always fun to see what fabrics someone chooses for their backing, do you see the cardinals?
Valentine Heart Table Runner
Linda shared her precious table runner made with my Valentine Heart table runner tutorial. This is the same table runner that I have on my kitchen table right now.
Fabric Basket and Coaster
Karen shared this neat fabric basket and coaster that she made. The quilting is a zig zag stitch and looks perfect! She said she was planning on making several more.
Sharing Pets
I always enjoy it when you share photos and stories about your pets. If I had my way, we would have more. I keep working on Builder Bob saying he needs to rescue another little Sadie. In the meantime I’ll keep feeding the birds, squirrels, cats and possums!
Opossums
We now have two opossums! I sure enjoy watching them. Early this morning there was also a new gray cat I haven’t seen before. We are supposed to get another snowstorm so I’ll be putting their food inside the tote to keep it dry for them.
Nana
Robin rescued Nana when she was 4 weeks old and says she is In a little spitfire. Just looking at her photo makes me laugh! Pretty hard to quilt when Nana is around!
Moose and Minnie
Ginger sent these sweet photos of her Staffordshire Terriers. The first one is Moose and Minnie is the full brindle and are both rescue dogs. She also has deer show up at her place and told me that they love canteloupe.
Bailey
Karen shared a photo of her dog Bailey who was an Old English Sheepdog. They are the sweetest dogs, years ago I had one called Alex who was the gentlest dog.
Dallas
This little cutie is Dallas a Malt-Poo, she really reminds me of our sweet Sadie. Kathy made the neat coat that she is wearing. Isn’t it adorable!
Thank you for sharing with me! Be sure and look back at my other Sharing Quilt Projects posts!

I Love your new place . So glad you have it you deserve it !!
Thank You for all you do. 😊❤️
I’m in NW Illinois and have received a boat load of snow, too. This last snowfall caused a collapse of a building behind my yard and in doing so did major structural damage to the brick of my garage — cracks from the back to the front. Ugh. I LOVE your new sink! Would you mind telling me what brand/model it is? I made the twisted heart, too, and planned on making it into a pillow. I’ll send you a photo when it’s completed. 🙂
Way more snow than we’ve gotten this winter here in SD. We currently have just enough to keep the ground white.
Love that new valentine runner design!
Truly love your new country home and all the changes you’ve been doing. You and your husband are one terrific team. Trying to get to making a heart runner for our table. My question: my mother-in-law gifted to me her old black singer. I would like to use it for doing all my free motion quilting as you do. Not sure if I have to set the machine a certain way. Do I need to drop the feed dogs and if so how is it done. The machine I have is a janome and I set it up as the book instructs. I would like to use Moms machine for quilting. She would be so pleased. Thanks so much for all your quilting ideas and your kindness in sharing. Hope to send a pic soon. ❤️
Wow! That’s a lot of snow with more coming! You’ll soon need to tunnel up to the door. 🙂 The new sink is really nice. I love the size of it. The table runner looks great on both tables. Guess you’ll need to make another one. The shared projects and pets are so fun to see. I love seeing what others do with the same pattern and different fabrics.
Your countertops are just beautiful. I also love your new table. I have the exact same one. Mine opens into a very large square. I am also happy to see that you take care of the wildlife around your home. I am an animal lover and always did the same when I lived in the country.
Love your sink!! Can you share anything more about it, like what brand or where you got it? Looks like you will need to use a smaller wash pan if you want to do small loads, like silverware?! Is it the standard opening for most stoves? Thanks–hope I’m not being too nosey. Also REALLY like your beautiful blue counter top!!
Snow is heading our way, and will be the first real snow storm this season. I like the snow, but now that all the kids are grown and out – that leaves me and hubby to do the shoveling. The kids would always shovel the driveway snow into a big pile and make a fort. Fun times!
So many wonderful photos and ideas. Of course the pets!!!!! Love the quilting on the Twisted heart! And the truck! and everyone has been so busy and creative. I need to get myself moving. Made (cut and hemmed) 7 fleece kennel quilts. They are simple (but boring). Almost finished with the Chinese lantern quilt, just doing the embroidery. We’re getting the snow today. LOVE SNOW! Thanks for so many great photos!
I really like all your table runners. I just finished making a runner with the “Well” pattern. Made it 4 blocks long, just fits the top of the bouffet. Will take pictures later. Going to start making placemats soon. Was at the fabric store to get Needle punch and nearly choked at 18.00 a meter, yikes, how prices have jumped. Is hard to sell something and add the extra to cover the cost. Love all your animals but not the opossums, I dont have a liking for them at all. They have migrated north and have caused a lot of problems for chicken farmers here in BC. They get rid of them fast if they see them. They can be very vicious with those razer charp teeth they have. I just dont have a liking for them. Have a great quilting day, love your work, thanks yards and meters full.
I love your new home. The other house in town just wasn’t “you”. This one already suits.
Waiting to see all the stuff you unearth as you finish unpacking and sorting.
The new sink looks wonderful! I never minded snow, but hubby doesn’t like it any more. The runner you are working on looks so bright and cheery! Have a great week Connie.
I’m with Builder Bob on the cold and snow! My husband loves it, me….not so much! Thank you for all the ideas you present on your blog. Had to choose which one to make!! My daughter has the same table you got from your daughter. We both make runners for it. Spring IS coming!!
