It is so much fun being an Island Batik Ambassador and I want to share my Island Batik Unboxing July 2024 with you! Twice a year we receive boxes from Island Batik that contain many of things we will use in coming quilt project and challenges.

Island Batik Unboxing July 2024

I end up making quilt projects that may be a bit out of my comfort zone but it always feels good when I complete it. In May I completed a large quilt that was all paper-pieced. My Harvest Hues quilt was a challenge but beautiful when completed.

Great video! Making videos makes you, by far, braver than I am. I’m certain that the minute I knew the video was on I’d freeze up.
What beautiful and awesome fabrics and batting you received. Can’t wait to see what you make from it all.
Thank you for sharing with us!

  2. Robyn from Australia says:

Batiks galore in such vibrant colours.
I’m sure you will let your imagination run wild, Connie, to turn these lovely fabrics into gorgeous patchwork items.
We (your followers) are so fortunate to have you as our mentor.
Enjoy every moment of being an Island Batik Ambassador.

  3. Travel bag — I love byAnnie patterns. They always seem a bit daunting at first, but just take it one step at a time, and at the end, you have a wonderful, sturdy bag. I made the duffle bag for both of my granddaughters. They are still in use. (Makes my grandma’s heart happy to see them in use.) I made the first one in 2016, so they are very durable.

    1. Thanks Judy, I think I did a bag from ByAnnie a long time ago and remember the directions were good. This will go to my daughter as she travels.

Great video, Connie! Nice collection of goodies you received!

  5. Darlene Sewista says:

Oh my gosh what gorgeous fabrics and goodies you received from Island Batik and partners. I am looking forward to seeing what you create with this. I’m sure it will be stunning. They are all so beautiful that it would be delightful to create with them.

  6. You’re going to be busy sewing up those beautiful batiks! I can’t choose a favorite, they’re all too pretty. I recently quilted and bound 2 tops that I had made in 2019 and 2020–both were in batiks. 🙂
I love Hobbs batting. I also buy unbleached Hobbs 80/20 by the roll, and black 80/20 in queen size packages since I don’t use it as often.

    1. Thanks Jenny, I don’t buy the black on a roll as like you I don’t use it that often but….I do have a couple of quilts I want to make with black or the dark gray.
