Hi Connie! I found you again through the Ambassador webpage! Remember when you made the button for me for Slow Sunday Stitching (that I still use to this day)?!? Just wanted to say hi and I signed up to get your posts so now I can see what you’re sewing these days! Happy Stitching! Kathy

Hi Connie Dear. WOW!!! You hit the jackpot with this Island Batik box of goodies. I would be in heaven with these gorgeous fabrics and accessories. I know you will create amazing projects with all of this. Blessings…

  4. Marcia Knorr says:

You will thoroughly enjoy using the WING CLIPPER by Deb Tucker. I tried the “flip method, and Eleanor Burns’ template, then tried the WING CLIPPER.
I made 550 flying geese for 2 full sized quilts and 3 small pillows using that WING CLIPPER! Deb’s template makes EXACT flying geese that are so presice.

  5. Glad to see you are an Island Batik Ambassador again, Connie! Is it a requirement to do a video for IB? I applied a few years ago, but I do not have a video camera, a phone or any way to video and I wasn’t accepted to become an ambassador, so I wonder if that was one of the reasons I was rejected? I don’t have the space in my home, nor would I know how to video if I had all the equipment, so I doubt I would ever be accepted anyhow. I might try again later this year, but not sure? It is so hard to know who and what they are really looking for to become an ambassador?

  6. Brenda @ Songbird Designs says:

Great video, Connie! I bet Rusty was nearby while you were making it and wondered why you were talking to a phone/camera!! LOL Looking forward to seeing what you make with these gorgeous goodies!

  7. Connie, your video was fun to watch. How exciting! I love all the fabrics and I’ve seen the iron. It’s so cool. Have fun!

I’m drooling over all the beautiful batiks that you received. I love sewing with them and look forward to seeing your projects .
Glad to hear that Bob is doing well after his surgery. I had melanoma develop in a mole on my face 4 years ago. I had surgery twice because the Dr. Didn’t get it all the first time. Then I was prescribed chemo cream to use on it. That was nasty stuff but the doctor said it was good that I did it. Eventually it healed well and you can hardly see the incision. Now I go every 6 months for check ups and try to stay out of the sun and wear my big hat!
    Happy stitching,
    Kaye Mattson

  10. Thank you for letting us “shop” with you! Love to hear more about the Wing Clipper! I miss my old quilt shop that had EVERY batik imaginable. Local shop now carries enough to make me dizzy so that’s okay! AND they let me bring Indie! (They pet the dog while I pet the fabric!) Still rainy, miserable weather but moving along with the neck tie quilt – can’t wait to be done with this.

  11. Linda Jennings says:

I couldn’t believe all the things you got in that box, even an iron! Do they tell you what patterns to use for each thing of fabric or do you have to come up with your own?

    1. HI Linda, I know I was excited to see everything in the box. Each month we work on a different type of project with a pattern of our choice. Some months we get to choose what to work on. Next month is the Log Cabin quilts that we will all be making with the collection we received.

  12. Janet Bland says:

I love Deb Tucker rulers. Her Wing Clipper makes the best flying geese. I would use the 5″ strips to make a bunch of wing clipper blocks. She has great video tutorials on her web site. Deb also is an Island Batik designer.

  13. Jean McKinstry says:

Connie, this was a great video, and the pics at the end show all the combinations together so well. I am so looking forward to your creations.AndI’m sure Rusty will be right there as a supervisor, and will check it all out.The iron looks interesting.
Cooler here yesterday and again this morning. Have a great day up north.
