I had fun making the Scattered Quilt in Bright Fun Colors. I received the beautiful bundle of Cherry Berry batiks in my ambassador box from Island Batik last Spring and have had so much fun playing working with all of the fabrics in this collection.

I decided to make my Scattered quilt pattern in the Cherry Berry collection and use every single fabric in the collection.

There were actually 22 fabrics and I used 21. There is a beautiful pale pink that I have used in another project – (this Wish You a Merry Christmas block) but I wanted to stay with just the bright colors in this quilt.

All of my stitching and quilting was done on my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine.

I happened to have the perfect color of Aurifil thread – #2460 to use when I machine-stitched on my binding.

The quilt ended up finishing at 88″ x 88″. I would have liked it a little bigger for our king-size bed but it will work. I have a new cream comforter that I’ll put on the bed first this winter. I have just enough fabric left to make some kind of cute pillows.

I wasn’t sure if I would have time to get my quilt quilted in time for my day on the blog hop as my dad has been so sick.

I am also dog-sitting Tasha again and she didn’t mind having her picture taken on the unfinished quilt top.

Once the quilt was done it was definitely dog approved!

The quilt was so big that I ended up using a backing I had that was 110 wide so I could get the quilt done.

Every single fabric in this collection is beautiful!

It was fun to take the quilt down by the river to get photos for the Island Batik Back to School Blog Hop.

I was able to hang the quilt from our deck next to Iggy, some of my neighbors got a kick out of seeing it…..right Dianna??
