For 2026 I thought it would be fun to have a Color of the Month Challenge. Would you like to join me? This will start tomorrow on January 1st.
Every month (hopefully on the first) I will share a new color that can be used to make a scrap block or even a quilt project that is small or large.
It has been several years since I set up a Linky Party and I’m using a different one so hopefully the learning curve isn’t too much.
I will do a post showing the color of the month and also give you a few ideas of what you can make. There will be a main color but you can always add other coordinating colors with it.
Block of the Month
I will also share directions to make a quilt block each month that you can use to make a different color block or mix things up and do a sampler of blocks.
Sneak Peek: For January I will start out with the Churn Dash block.
Giveaways
I have purchased quite a few different quilt subscriptions in the last year and I would like share some of the things I have. To enter a giveaway all you have to do is post a photo of a quilt block or project using the color of the month. You don’t have to have a website.

Question: I am new to your website as far as participating.
I would like to try the “Color of the Month”. My question is do you have to do every month?
I’ve recently been elected VP of our Quilt Guild. I’m already pretty involved with my Guild teaching 101 & 201 Classes, Quilt Camps, and part of a 5 woman group doing Donation Quilts for our local Charities, Police Depts, Nursing Homes, Dyalisis Center and a couple other organizations.

Hi Lisa, I am doing a different color challenge every month but you don’t have to do one every month. This month it is red and you can share any quilt block or project that has red in it. You don’t have to make a churn dash quilt block, that was just to give people an idea. I hope you will join as I have a giveaway every month.

HI Connie, sounds fun. I hope to participate in your color of the month. I always have the best of intentions. lol. I have so many wip that I hope to finish. We will see. We have about 7-8 inches of snow here in western Pa. Stay warm and safe in the new year.
