Amber Geese with borders Part 2

My work in progress right now is this lap quilt made with beautiful Island Batik fabrics. Hopefully I will get it quilted today…..although there is a rumor that our weather will get in the 70’s and if that happens…..I’m working outside!

Amber Geese with borders Part 2

Last October I shared a post where I finished piecing this wall hanging I called Amber Geese. Yesterday when I pulled it out I still had some fabrics left and I decided I wanted to make it into a lap quilt. I added a couple borders at the top and bottom to add some length to it. Here is what it looked like before.

I had forgotten how beautiful the colors were.

Save this for later!

I'll email you this post so you can come back to it later.

Don't worry, I promise not to spam you.

The fabrics I used are Amber Ale batiks from Island Batik.  The background fabric is also a batik from Island Batik called Cream – it is one of their basics.

The first quilt I made with these fabrics was my Amber Logs quilt that I made last July. I really love how you can do a search on your blog and find all this info……great diary!

It's a great color way! And, I imagine you are outside right now! It is in the 70s here, and I took a long walk by the river!

  3. Love the additions to this quilt Connie. Happy to see our Connie back again using her beautiful batiks she makes such gorgeous quilts with.

Of course, I'm not complaining at all, since I LOVE the other fabrics you've been using. IN fact, you might remember way back when I started following you, I had to admit not truly liking batiks until you started making such pretty things using them and you then converted me to actually buying them myself now too. And loving them.

  4. Those colors are glorious together. Both of the quilts patterns look great done in them.

Love everything about this one! It's pretty nice up here today too. I am inside folding fabric-that's just as good as being outside, LOL

  6. Love all the fall colors! Fall colors are my favorite, but I am not ready for fall!!! LOL! Bring on springtime. Very pretty lap quilt. 🙂

Lovely Autumn colors in these Island Batik fabrics. I do hope you are able to get outside and enjoy some beautiful Spring weather.

  8. Those are the most delicious colors. I loved the geese when it was a topper but now that you have added boarders I love it even more. I just might have to find some of that great fabric and make me something with them.
    Thanks for sharing.
