St Patrick's Snail's Trail Quilt

St Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and everyone was celebrating it here yesterday and I figured I had better show you my table topper made with the Snail’s Trail die from AccuQuilt. This table topper is 24″ x 24″ and perfect for the center of a table.

I have really, really been having fun with the Snail’s Trail die from AccuQuilt and the new GO! BIG electric cutter – this is my fourth project with it!

About a month ago I won a bundle of batiks from QuiltShopGal and used two of the batiks for this table topper. There is a weekly #CreativeGoodness Linky Party every week and I will be linking this post there this week.

Last week I shared my Colorful Snails quilt and how the pieces of the block went together……I couldn’t resist showing it again.

I really should have timed making the four blocks because it didn’t take very long. Everything matches up perfectly.

Once I had the blocks finished I laid them out a couple different ways before I decided what I liked the best. I almost picked this and thought of doing some applique in the center.

Another fun way.

I ended up going with the traditional look.

I did a simple stipple quilting on it, I was going to do some straight lines on the green parts but…..I forgot and started stippling a little bigger in one of the green sections so……forget the straight lines. Note to myself: quit daydreaming while free-motion quilting. Have you made a St Patrick’s Day project?

I chuckled when you said "not to self to stop daydreaming when doing FMQ." I would have tried the straight part first, because I would have not remembered, either. It looks great.

Hi Connie…..I've requested the regular GO cutter for birthday/Mother's Day, and am looking forward to having fun with it. I like your alternative layouts and think a Shamrock would look great in the center of it, but then, if something were put on top of it, you wouldn't see it, I guess. They are all pretty and look forward to what you might be doing for Easter. Enjoy the day.
