2026 May Color of the Month

I can’t believe it is May already, the year is just flying by. I thought BLUE would be a neat color for the 2026 May Color of the Month.

You can pick any shade of BLUE and you can make any quilt block or quilt project. It doesn’t have to be the Churn Dash quilt block.

Blue Churn Dash Quilt Block

Here are my blue Churn Dash quilt blocks. Again I am using my leftover batiks from my Island Batik ambassador quilt projects.  I used a mixture of batiks and cotton quilting fabrics. I do this quite often. The white is a premium muslin. One of the blues is almost a gray color.

You can download the free PDF for the block here.

Blue Morning Glory Quilt Block

I pulled out some more blue batiks and made a couple Morning Glory quilt blocks.

You can find the free block pattern here.

One Section

The block is 8½-inches unfinished made from 4 sections.

Turning the sections

This is a easy and fun quilt block to make, if you turn the blocks the opposite way it really looks different. Add some eyes to each section and you have kitties.

  1. I can see this as my new favorite color too! Electric!

  2. Sheryl Harrison says:

Your blue and white quilt is beautiful! I love the blue and white quilt I made a few years ago. It was a Wendy Shepherd pattern featured for the year in a quilting magazine. I live in a rural area and am 35 miles from the closest Walmart. I was anxious I would miss an issue and couldn’t finish my quilt. I got all the issues but I won’t start another quilt that is printed in installments unless I have all the patterns.

  3. Congrats to Linda- lovely quilt. Blue is one of my favorite colors so may have to look into my stash.
As always, love Connie’s creations and patterns.

  4. Pretty blues! That Morning Glory pattern is really nice, and cute as kitties too. That’s a great color of blue.
