Batik Petit Four Basket
Do you like to make fabric baskets? If you have followed me for any amount of time you know how much I do and how many I have made. This little batik Petit Four basket is so cute and has all kinds of uses!
My dear friend and neighbor gifted me some beautiful batiks that came all the way from Alaska (thank you Diannia). I have them sitting in this little basket on my window sill and one of these days (soon) I’m going to use them in a project.
If you have a little one or a grandchild you should really make this little basket. My granddaughter loves filling it with toys and stuffed animals.
I went outside just a bit ago and took this photo of the Petit Four basket filled with potpourri out on the deck rail. Can you see the layer of frost? Much better than snow!
This little mini batik Petit Four basket takes no time at all to make. The pattern isn’t mine (link below) so you’ll have to watch the video that Kimberly from The Fat Quarter Shop did with Annie or get the free pattern.
You use a foam stabilizer to give the basket body. There are several types and I used the Bosal In-R-Form Foam stabilizer. These photos are sure teasers aren’t they!
Be sure to read or watch the instructions carefully. Notice how I marked the seam allowance in the step as it wasn’t the normal ¼”.
I have used this foam stabilizer for several projects including a tote that is used to carry all of little Sadie’s things when we go on a trip. I’ll have to take some photos of it and share it.
You can go to YouTube and watch Kimberly and Annie show just how easy it is to make the batik Petit Four basket.
