I want to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US. I also wish everyone in the world who visits my site a wonderful day, I am so thankful for all of you!
Do you remember what you were doing last February before the world turned upside down? We were still hoping to sell our river house and build on this house. Who knew that nine months later we would be buying a house out in the country after selling the river house!
The leaves are now gone but I never shared this beautiful autumn photo I took on one of my walks with Mr. Mickey.
Two years ago my daughter took a job and moved to Maquoketa which started us on the same journey. I just realized I’ve been moving for two years as I moved a lot of her things before we found a house and moved also. Now we are in the middle of another move and I hope it is the last for some time.
How many people buy a new home based on a room in the basement that will be used as a quilt studio? Only someone crazy like me!
I can’t wait until I have more room to show you quilt projects like my Autumn table runner.
Family
I am grateful for Builder Bob who makes my life complete. He is always so supportive in this business of mine which seems to completely take over our home. Wait until you see all of the changes he’ll be making to our new house!
I am thankful that some of our family members have had the virus but are healthy now. Builder Bob and I are still being very cautious of where we go so hopefully we don’t catch it.
Builder Bob and I are thankful for the wonderful four years we had with Miss Sadie before she passed. Mr. Mickey has been with us for almost two years and he helps fill the void of losing her.
Quilting
Quilting, sewing, and crafting are the things in life that fulfill me and I am so thankful that I have a hobby and business that I love. I am thankful that so many of you enjoy my tutorials and patterns and support me. I can’t wait to get my new studio all set up so I can start quilting again!
I am grateful that we have a hobby like quilting to keep us busy during this time where we are staying home. I always enjoy seeing all of the beautiful things you are creating.
Everything below has been packed up, some of it is already at the country house but most of it is in boxes. I can’t wait to unpack everything!
My large cutting table has been in storage for over a year, it won’t be long before I can use it again! I’m not sure if I will have a DIY Sliding quilt design wall but there will definitely be some kind of wall.
Thankful for you
Once again I am so thankful for all of your kind words especially when we lost Miss Sadie this year. Your encouragement and support uplift me and motivates me to share more and more with all of you.
There are all kinds of sales starting for Black Friday so have fun shopping and stay safe. I also have all of my patterns on sale in my shop.

In one of Roberta Horton’s older books, she talks about how her husband’s job kept them moving every few years. She made a quilt of houses that they had lived in over the many years, and the title of the quilt was “Garage for sale, house attached”. Her husband was always more interested in the garage than what the house looked like. He always was looking for a 3 car garage. People buy houses for the most unusual reasons. Congratulations on finding the perfect one for you!

You are a brave soul. To move and then move again. We live in the country and I love it.
The year we got married we had our home started. We have never moved since. We have everything here we need. At my age I do not plan on moving unless I end up in a senior home.
You have done a great job on the truck and would like to order it. Plan to make placemats. Will maybe make some for gifts. The other girls have done great jobs also.
I just purchased a new jeep Compass Sport. Had a 2007 Jeep Compass before. It was needing some work done on it. Thought it was time to buy a new one. Had the money and said why not? I am sure I will enjoy it.
I wish you all the best on your new home and I am really happy for you. Glad you have granddaughters to help you. Take care and keep making beautiful quilts.

We don’t have thanksgiving in Australia but it seems like a lovely tradition and we all have so much to be thankful for. Thank you so very much for sharing with us and making us feel like friends and family. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and have a some time out for you and Builder Bob.
