Twice a year I get so excited when a huge box shows up from Island Batik! Come take a look and check out my new Island Batik goodies.

I’m finally getting settled in my new “temporary” quilt room and office. It feels so good to have all of my baskets of fabric setup and my AccuQuilt Go Cutter is ready to go.

I made a video that shows what is in my box also!

Black Pearl

I received 2½’ strips of the Spring 2019 collection of Black Pearl. Island Batik also sent 2 yards of a light and 2 yards of a dark fabric from the collection.

They also included eight ½ yard pieces that coordinated from their basics and blender batiks. These are always available.

Is is going to be so much fun to work with this collection!

Garden Party

There was a stack of 10″ squares from the Garden Party collection. You receive two 10″ squares of each fabric in the group.

I also received 2 yards of the red from the collection and 2 yards of a neutral that will go with the fabrics.

Island Batik also included eight ½ yard pieces of fabrics from the basic and blenders.

I always enjoy working with these bright and beautiful colors!

Graphic Gems

The next collection I received was Graphic Gems and are ¼ yard pieces. There are nineteen different pieces!

Solid and Neutral Batik Fabric

I also received a 4 yard piece of neutral fabric called custard. I really like using neutrals in my quilt designs.

Island Batik has also started making solid batiks. I was sent 4 yard pieces of white, black and grey.

Aurifil Thread

Aurfil has been sending the ambassadors thread for several years which is also so neat. I received a purple 50wt Aurfil thread and an orange 50wt Aurifil thread plus a pink variegated thread. Aurifil thread is great thread for piecing and quilting.

Hobbs Batting

Hobbs Batting also has been partnering with Island Batik and sending all of the ambassadors batting. Would you believe there are 50 Island Batik ambassadors this year! That is a lot of batting! I actually buy Hobbs batting by the bolt!

I received two 60″ x 60″ pieces from the Hobbs Tuscany Collection – one is 100% wool and the other is a wool/cotton blend. There was also a queen size cotton batting.

AccuQuilt

AccuQuilt started partnering with Island Batik this year and in the first ambassador bundle everyone received a Go Fabric Cutter and the 8″ Qube.  This time we all received various dies. In my box was the Crossed Canoe die which can be used to make beautiful quilts.

I have been guest blogging for AccuQuilt for several years and have quite a few of their dies and all of the Qubes. I love how easy it is to cut out fabric with them and the dog-eared corners make it so easy to piece.

Be sure to check out the current Accuquilt deals and current offers!

It is going to be so much fun to create quilt projects for the rest of the year using all of these wonderful quilt supplies!

Would you like to see what I have received in past ambassador boxes? I have a page that shows every box I have received. I was one of the very first Island Batik ambassadors in 2014. Wow, where does the time go!

  1. Connie I love hearing your voice and can now see and hear you…Yay! WOW!!! Your Island Batik Ambassador box is chock full of amazing fabrics, batting, threads, and die cut. I just discovered that I had (please don’t judge me) a 8 FQ pack of Island Batiks Brites and of course not the same set a 20 Fat 8ths set of Island Batiks as well. I am so crazy as to what to do with it. Please give me some suggestions. cut dates are eights 9/11/18 and the FQ date is 1/21/19 of course they were on sale. Thank you for any help you can offer.

  3. What a lovely colourful post! And your video is just great. You managed to hold the camera so steady (until you bumped into the wall!) and your dialogue was beautifully clear – no ‘umms’ and ‘ers’ – you are a natural! 🙂

  4. What a basket of goodies! I know you will come up with some wonderful projects. Gorgeous colors. You are going to be even busier than ever. Have fun!!

  5. I love it when you get your boxes of goodies from Island Batik. It’s so fun to see what you come up with. You are so very talented with all your quilting you do and I appreciate looking at it all.
You seem to have a full plate now with the move, settling in, selling your house and sewing/quilting. I would probably go crazy with all that. Anyway…so glad things are going okay with you. Will look forward to what comes next. God Bless You

  6. hi Connie
Lucky you. The fabrics are amazing. I love batik. I bought an Acu Cutter and shapes years ago and have never used it. I’ll have to get it out and see what to do. Right now I am making 12” dragons out of leather pieces a friend gave me. Have to get back to quilting. So glad I found you. Patricia

    1. I’m glad you found me also Patricia! Would love to see your leather dragons and get that AccuQuilt cuter out and use it, I love mine!

  8. Great box of goodies – I know you’ll soon be busy sewing some new projects. Your sewing room is coming along, too.

Thank you for sharing your life with quilting.
    I enjoy hearing new ideas.

Love those Island Batiks. Can’t wait to see what projects you use them in. You did a great job on your video. Yeah.

  11. I love that Black Pearl!! Great colors. Also love the rainbow effect of Garden Party. Can’t wait to see what you make from all these beauties!

  12. The colors are absolutely awesome! This might be the best selections you’ve ever gotten. Can’t wait to see what wonderful things you make with them.

  13. Your fabrics, they shine with colour so rich. In time the studio will all fall into place, meantime try and stay cool.

  14. You must know you caught my eye with those colors! I LOVE them all.
You did great on your video, well, other than walking into the wall, but that just made it better and honest if that makes sense. I LOVED the video because it made you real. Yea, all these years I’ve been following you and we’ve emailed, I have never heard your voice that I can recall.

PS: Not sure if you are aware, but typing a comment is extremely tough; typing is easy enough, but the font is tiny, almost about a size 6 or so and it’s a very light gray in color. Old eyes don’t like those two combinations much you know. LOL BUT, don’t worry, it just means, I may need to type comments in a Word doc and paste into comment so I can be sure I haven’t made any typos.

  15. Margaret Jordan says:

How do you get to become an island batiks ambassador?

    1. Hi Margaret,

Once a year Island Batik post an application on their website where you can apply to be an ambassador in the fall.

  16. Amazing! Thanks for sharing your bounty. Have fun working with all of the lovely fabric.

  17. Connie, I feel for you re: the downsizing. Please make sure you get a climate-controlled storage unit. We didn’t when we downsized, and a lot of nice things had to be thrown out because they picked up a funky smell 🙁

    1. Thanks Barbara, this one isn’t climate-controlled but is very clean. I actually won’t put any of my quilting things in there other than my large cutting table and a couple cabinets.

  18. Michele T says:

Wow! I love batiks and everything looks awesome!! Can’t wait to see what you make!!

  19. Susan Mercer says:

I am so jealous. I absolutely love the batiks and all the vibrant colors. I use batiks for almost my quilts that I make. Am anxious to see the new pattern for a baby quilt. Have had a lady ask me to make a quilt for her great-daughter that is due this fall. If I do want a very simple pattern. Thank you for listening to me.

    1. Hi Susan, ask you can tell, I love working with batiks too! I hope to have the pattern finished soon and it would make a perfect baby quilt.

  20. Looking good Connie! Can’t wait to see the beauties that are sure to come! I love that New block!

  21. Vicki in MN says:

Hi Connie~I agree doing the video-eeek. But in the end it wasn’t so bad. You did a geat job!! I too received the crossed canoe die, I have never made that block so it will be fun. Your room is so clean and mine is a HUGE mess and I don’t know where to begin!! Too many projects going at once, LOL
