Happy Birthday Rusty!
First thing, it is Rusty’s birthday! We really aren’t sure when he was born as he is a rescue but his annual checkup was scheduled for November 4th. I did take him in last week and he has gained 8 pounds since he came to live with us. Diet time for him and me!
You can read more about Rusty in this post. He came into our lives 2 years ago from the Heart Animals Rescue. Jo from Jo’s Country Junction was fostering him. He had surgery on his eyes before he came to us but he was only with us a few days when one cherry eye (prolapse of the third eyelid gland) came back and then the other eye did too.
Thankfully we have a wonderful veterinarian who was able to do the surgery again and so far it is working.
9 Years Old
Rusty is about 9 years old and we treasure every moment with him! Many of you love seeing photos of him and he has finally become a ham and loves having his picture taken.

Happy Adoption Day, sweet Rusty! So glad you came to live with the Campbell family.
Today is a special Adoption Day at our house also. Five years ago, we adopted two sweet little Chihuahua girls! They are not litter mates, but are definitely bonded. Star and Kikki have brought a lot of happiness to our home, too!
Rusty is so adorable! Special treat for the day! I live on the walking path and I see so many dogs go by in a day! Rusty would love it! Morning walks, evening walks, midnight walks, even the rain doesn’t stop them – snow and cold we have an entirely diferent set but still out there romping in the drifts! LOVE the Dresden plate colors!!!!! Like a fireplace fire sending sparks of color!!!! Thanks!
Thanks Joan, we have lots of dogs walk by also so I try and take Rusty for a walk when not so many dogs are out as they make him nervous. He is a little scaredy cat!

Love Rusty! Happy Birthday to him! We have 2 rescues also and it’s sad that we don’t really know how old they are. Looking forward to your Dresden quilt! I am currently working on 2 memory quilts for my sister-in-law’s grandsons (she passed away in May). And hoping to get my Grace quilt frame and new Juki machine up and running so I don’t have to free motion on my avocado green Kenmore although it has served me quite well. Just such a small throat space that you’re constantly wrestling with fabric!
Thanks Stacia, we are guessing his age based on his teeth as he had some pulled out when we got him. Doctor’s guess not ours. Our first rescue we took to the vet and they thought she was 7 until they pulled her teeth after spaying her and figured she was 10. Those old machine are workhorses but it is nice to have a bigger throat space.

Happy Birthday Rusty. Pets are wonderful company. We have always had rescue dogs. I miss mine but due to ill health I no longer am able to have a dog. Instead I love my neighbour’s 2 poodle/retriever
dogs. Treat Rusty extra special today.
