Bella Skillbuilder Flying Geese Blocks
We were to make 3 of the Bella Skill Builder flying geese blocks. I have always enjoyed making any size of flying geese blocks, have you ever made any?
The flying geese blocks are always fun to make when you use the Quilt in a Day Small Flying Geese Ruler. I actually have 2 sizes of this template and can make 4 different sizes of blocks.
It was fun to put all of the blocks I have made so far up on my design wall. I am using the Bella solid colors that are in the kit. This is going to be beautiful.
Be sure and look at the Bella Skillbuilder Month 4 post at the Jolly Jabber.
If you are just thinking about joining be sure and visit the Fat Quarter Shop. They have a FAQ page which is where you can find the free pattern each month, links to all of the blocks, patterns, and videos that have been shown so far, and also see the total yardage in case you want to use different fabrics or colors.
Kimberly from Fat Quarter Shop and Sherri McConnell from A Quilting Life walk you through the Flying Geese block. Watch the video tutorial on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel.

It’s going to be gorgeous!
Thanks, I think it will be also!
Wow, your points are PERfect! I have that ruler, but I’ve only used it a couple of times, as I find the directions quite confusing. I find myself using paper-piecing to achieve perfect geese instead. Wish I could use the ruler more – I don’t care much for removing all that paper!
Thanks Karin! If you have a little time you should watch the video as you’ll see how easy it is to use the ruler, I love it.
Hello Connie Dear. I am trying to keep up with your amazing daily projects and posts. Unfortunately the outdoors is requiring my full attention. We are having multiple days of sunshine and it is imperative we work in the yards…just in case any potential buyer wants to find us. Lovely quilt blocks sweet friend.
