Have you seen the new quilt book called Stash Statement by Kelly Young? It will help you tame all of those fabric scraps you have. All of the quilts in her book are Improv quilts which simply means piecing without a plan.
I don’t know about you but that is my kind of piecing!! There is no right or wrong way to do it!
Blog Hop coming soon!
Kelly’s book Stash Statement has 12 beautiful quilt patterns in it and you’ll get to see all of them made up by other quilters during the blog hop that will begin on April 16th. I’ll actually be sharing my Grand Bazaar quilt that day but I just wanted to let you know that her book is now available.
Kelly blogs at My Quilt Infatuation, be sure and visit her!
You’ll definitely want to read the Tips & Techniques section of the book before you begin as this is where the magic begins. Once you start creating fabric from your scraps I know you’ll be like me and come up with all kinds of neat projects you’ll want to make.
It has become a challenge for me to get Sadie to pose on quilts for pictures. I wanted to share a sneak peek at my quilt made from Kelly’s book. The quilt is all bunched up because I put Sadie’s bed underneath thinking it would help with photos. Nope, she still wouldn’t look at me. Don’t worry Sadie, I don’t like my picture taken either!
Take a look at a couple of the beautiful quilts that Kelly shares in her book.

Hello Connie; I follow Kelly’s blog and enjoy so many of her quilt creations that she shares. Sadie is just posing in the way that she feels will reveal her most beautiful feminine side. My Miss Dodger will do this, if she does not want her picture taken, she will completely turn her backside to the camera. Yet, when she is being beautiful she chooses her spots and how she sits or lays. I loved our Miss Chicca (who we lost not long ago, after 13 years) she could care less how her kitty pictures were taken. All she cared about was if she was comfortable. I truly believe she knew that we thought she was a beautiful cat and so what did it matter what pose she was in, we would just love it! LOL. I am glad that you show any picture of Sadie, she is beautiful and you can tell she is a barrel of laughs with attitude!! I look forward to seeing your quilt and other bloggers quilts also. I remember creating fabric for a quilt once, it was a lot of fun. Have no idea what happened to it. Thanks for sharing everything, sorry I was a blabber mouth today! Hope that you have a fantastic day!

Connie I think Sadie is merely being feminine “coy”. Your Stash Statment quilt looks very intriguing. I love blog hops and will be happy to Hop along. Sewing scraps to create new pieces of fabric makes me think of women years ago who did such things out of necessity…everything old is new again.

It looks like an interesting book and will make for a great blog hop. I don’t like my picture being taken either, Sadie.

Well, Sadie is still cute even if she won’t look at the camera. That looks like a really fun quilt she’s sitting on, too.

I love making scraps into new fabric improv style. This looks like a great book. Sadir just has opinions about which is her “good side”, that’s all. 🙂

Miss Sadie is just like my aunt and grandmother! They would never look directly at the camera! That’s just what they did – not sure if it was just the “proper” way for them or what!!! Thanks for sharing the info on Kelly’s new book. Looks very interesting!!
