It has been a busy week and my FedEx driver said he stopped at my house every day last week! Yippee! I love quilt studio stash addition goodies!

I just finished up a quilt that I’ll be sharing on Monday. I was almost done when I ran out of my Aurifil #2310, luckily I had another spool of Aurifil #2311 which is almost the same color. Once I have the tension set correctly on my vintage 15-91 Singer for Aurifil thread I don’t want to change it.

Last week I ordered the Super Easy Machine Needle Inserter and Threader to help me thread my sewing machine needles.

I don’t go for a new eye exam until July but I have a feeling my eyes are getting worse.  I received a newsletter from The Singer Featherweight Shop and watched a little video showing how to use it and decided I needed it.

I’m not affiliated with the shop but they have all kinds of things for your Featherweight machines. I bought a package of bobbins for my Featherweight and then two packages of bobbins for my 15-91 Singer. The last 3 packages I bought from Joann’s were all too small to find on the bobbin winder and I couldn’t use them. The Singer Featherweight Shop talked about the difference between cheap bobbins and good ones. Their price was a little higher but……all of the bobbins work!

I also picked up a couple of Chestnut Street Jolly Bars for an upcoming project with the Fat Quarter Shop.

This is the same fabric line from Fig Tree & Co that I used last month for my Dutch Tulips quilt. I couldn’t resist making something else with the whole line.

I have a full list of quilts and projects that I’ll be working on over the next couple of months! This includes quilts for Island Batik, projects that I’ll share as an Island Batik ambassador, AccuQuilt projects, a few things for the Fat Quarter Shop, and….something else that I can’t share right now. Busy, busy!!

I received the AccuQuilt GO! Sleigh & Snow Flakes die and the AccuQuilt GO! Orange Peel die for a couple of blog posts on the AccuQuilt blog. Which one do you think I’ll use first? I have a Snow Flake Table Topper tutorial you might like.

  1. I think having a very good relationship with the UPS deliverer is very important. You really do stay busy and productive and I love seeing what you create. Happy Sewing Dear…<3

  2. Thank you, Connie, for highlighting the Featherweight Shop! I need a couple of things for my machine and where I use to order from has closed. So big hugs and thanks!

    1. You are so welcome Debbie, very fast service. Free shipping in the US too!

  3. I remember when you made that bag. I signed up for the class then and never made the bag!! Time to go back and look at that class.
Connie, that tool to put in a needle is great. I don’t have a Singer but it would be helpful on any machine. When I began quilting, I bought an inexpensive Brother to begin with. The first time I went to put in a new needle, I dropped it. I couldn’t have done this if I’d tried, but it went straight down down through the needle plate never to be seen again. Now when I insert a new needle, I’m careful to cover the needle plate to prevent that happening again.

    1. I remember also Pat! I think the needle threader would probably work on just about any sewing machine, I’ll be trying it out soon!
