Island Batik sent me some beautiful Rayon Batiks so I could make this scarf which is one of the projects in Quick Quilted Gifts.
It has been a long time since I worked with rayon and I forgot how much I loved it. I used to make many of my dresses, tops and skirts from rayon. Once I even made a dress with a matching free motion quilted jacket! Yes rayon is a little slippery but pinning makes a world of difference.
Here you can see one of the steps in making the infinity scarf.
It was actually the 4th of July when my grandson took the pictures of me……it was warm but I put on a fall outfit to go with the scarf. Oops…..I forgot my shoes! If you have been reading about our pelican and watched the first video you now know why I was wearing fall clothes in the summer.
The infinity scarf was very easy to make and I thought you might enjoy seeing just how long it is before I did another wrap. The scarf would also be great to make out of regular batiks, cottons or flannel, I’ll definitely be making more!
Lovely…you and your infinity scarf. I love your batik fabric choices. Rayon makes for a really nice drape. Creative Infinity Scarf Bliss…
Gorgeous! I love the idea of the scarf.
Great looking scarf! I love infinity scarves and this one looks especially nice in the fall colors.
Very nice, the fabric is beautiful!
Great idea, Connie!!!
Wow Connie, the scarf looks gorgeous!
I didn't know there were rayon batiks! Perfect for this scarf — which looks great on you, too! 🙂
Gorgeous scarf I would have never thought about making an infinity scarf from rayon batiks.
It is a beautiful scarf, Connie. I have a friend that would love that. Guess I need to make one. 🙂
Isn't it amazing how a scarf dresses up an outfit so beautifully? That is so pretty and I'll bet the rayon feels wonderful too.
looks great! just got back so catching up on blogs 🙂
The colors of the batik look so rich and vibrant. I like the subtle stripe of the fabrics.
Oh wow, didn't know Island Batiks did rayon….how fabulous is that???? Get post.
