If I’m not quilting, I’m probably on my computer working on tutorials, my website, or some graphics like these quilt gift tags that you might enjoy using with any gifts you’ll be giving.
Print the pages out on regular paper or card stock. You can fussy cut around each tag or just cut them into square tags. Wouldn’t these be great to use!

Rusty and Mr. Mickey
Wednesday night my daughter and granddaughter came over to meet Rusty and took this photo of Rusty, Mr. Mickey, and me. I’m going to have to change a few photos on my site to include Rusty now.
They are getting along so well and it has only been a week! Take a closer look at Rusty.
Poor Rusty has Cherry Eye again
Thursday morning we got up and the first thing I noticed was that Rusty had this terrible thing in his eye. I felt so bad for him!
When Jo fostered Rusty, he had surgery to correct his cherry eyes. Jo has a photo of him before the surgery and about him. There was always a possibility that the surgery might not work, it looks worse than before.
I called our vet and they got us in right away. I brought all of the paperwork I had on Rusty and he is now in their system a little sooner than I had planned. He was so good for the exam, he had a Corneal Fluorescein stain done which came back negative so he could start on some antibiotic drops.
The doctor who does surgery was off but it sounds like Rusty will have surgery again. I’ll find out more in the next day or two. I sure hope his other eye will be okay.
A quick exam of his mouth showed that he will need some dental work. One tooth, in particular, may have to be taken care of pretty soon as there was a hole in it. Poor little guy! He weighed in at almost 19 pounds. I thought he looked a little underweight but was told he looked good and could gain maybe a pound but no more than that.

Thank you, as always, for sharing your talents with us. The quilt labels are beautiful as is everything you come up with. I’m minutes away from purchasing the placemat pattern you recently highlighted.
More importantly, however, thank you for the care you obviously give Mr. Mickey and now Rusty. Hopefully, Rusty’s eye issue will be sorted out soon enough and I’m glad you are having his teeth looked at. Rescuing is not for the faint of heart but is so heart fulfilling.
Wishing you and Rusty a merry Christmas and hope he’s doing better!
We had to use a veterinarian eye specialist out of Omaha for my husbands service dog. She gave Darcy 5 extra years of sight. Dr Tonya McIlnary

I tried to send info but my email internet stopped working. She’s an amazing dr.
Keeping you all in prayer
My goodness . . . Rusty is where he needs to be with loving parents and a wonderful pal. You’ve done all you can for now – it’s the vet’s turn to take control. Continue to think positive and the fur babies will follow suit!
Thank you for the wonderful gift tags – so creative!
Enjoy your Christmas Season with the family!
Hugs!
Poor little Rusty. Hope the vet can take care of this once and for all. You are a wonderful “doggy mom”.
Poor little Rusty can’t catch a break with his eyes. Hopefully the drops will help and doesn’t have to have surgery again. But if he does, he’s in good hands to be taken care of. My heart goes out to him.
Your picture with Mr. Mickey and Rusty was great.
Oh, poor Rusty. Glad you were able to get him to the vets immediately! Praise the Lord. That is a sweet picture of you three!!
What a great photo! You are lucky to find a vet who does eye surgery. Prayers for him.
Love the gift tags – I’m wondering if I can print them on fabric and and stuff them?
Let it snow – you have the 2 cuddle bugs and quilts to make! Thanks
If you use printer fabric it would be great! I use it a lot when I want a photo on fabric! It’s a great idea! I’ll check to see if I have any left! 😀
oh but Rusty is adorable. oh poor boy. but he is in good hands with you. thanks so much for the gift tags. these will be fun to use
So sorry to hear about Rusty again. My thoughts and prayers are with you. He is very lucky to have you and your husband to take good care of him.
Dear Connie: Thoughts and prayers are with you, Rusty, Mr. Mickey, and your family. I’m so glad Rusty has a good home and your are getting him the best care possible. I hope his surgery on the cherry eye goes well this time around so you won’t have to worry. Also, I hope you can get his tooth taken care of. It’s so hard when our puppies cannot talk to us. Thanks so much for the cute gift tags.
Wishing you, Rusy, Mr. Mickey, and your family a blessed Holiday Season!
Roxy in Hudson, WI
Thank you Roxy, still waiting to hear from the vet but we will do whatever we can for Rusty. We knew adopting an older rescue dog would mean things like this.
Feel bad for Rusty. He has been thru so much and after last surgery looked okay. I loved the picture of him the other day on the porch. Eyes looked okay and his ears were perked up. Wishing Rusty eyes get taken care of and also that Mr. Mickey feels better too.
Hi Denise, I love that photo of him on the porch also! We’ll do what we can to get him all fixed up!
It will work out.
My little guy has bad cataracts and is almost blind but he still goes on walks with his brother and my other chihuahuas. I just guide him and call him to come when he really can not see his way in the house.
Dogs are much stronger than we are. They don’t worry about their eyes and such.
Just take good care of him like you are and it will all work out.
And Love is the biggest healer of All.
That is good to know Anita, hopefully, we can get his eye taken care of, he is so sweet!
Oh, Connie, poor Rusty can’t win with his cherry eye!! I hope the next surgery to fix it will be the last one he needs for this condition!! Can they deal with his tooth at the same time, so he doesn’t need extra surgery just for that? Rusty did hit the jackpot in becoming a member of your family, so I know you will do everything in your power to keep him healthy and happy. So sorry to hear about Mr. Mickey’s declining health…always so hard!
We’ll get him taken care of, thanks!
Thank you for the cute gift tags. Rusty is so lucky to have made his way to you. I hope his other eye will be ok and that this one can be treated quickly. Merry Christmas from Hernando, MS. My best to you and your family.
Love the photo of you and the dogs, you’re looking good Connie. Sad to hear about Rusty’s continuing health issues. How fortunate he is to be with a loving family that is prepared to give him the best care possible. Thanks for the lovely gift tag pattern. Take care of yourself. Best wishes from Vancouver Island, British Columbia 🇨🇦.
Connie Dear this is a wonderful photo of you and Mr. Mickey and Rusty. I shall lift prayers for your family and fur children. Life is quite a challenge and you and Builder Bob are so wonderful to always meet and surpass each challenge. Blessings…
Thank so much Sherry, I actually like the photo too which is amazing LOL. I’m going to have to ask my daughter for the original and change the photo I always use to this. We knew when rescuing Rusty that there would be things that he needed, just like Mickey does.
I am so sorry about Rusty. Hope that everything will go well with him. He is so beautiful.
I could scream after being full time volunteer in foster and rescue. The Amish do indeed kennel full time their dogs in filthy horrid conditions. I have never heard of free roaming breeders. We keep saving but insist the moms have to be spayed and saved. It is not right to not save the moms and we are talking all American dogs or fancy. I currently have a 10 year old lab mix that I saved his litter. He is diabetic and i am told most people put them down. I will sell my shoes to buy what he needs. You just hit a nerve this morning. Rusty is in a good place now but there was NEVER a need for this. I have witnessed truckloads of dogs from the pound dead from being put down, they go to the dump. Pediatric spay and neuter to all, no one leaves for a new home intact. Northern Indiana, Amish community are the WORST.
Poor Rusty and poor you? I hope that they can get it under control so he can avoid those vet appointments. Cute little ornament labels. Thank you.
Thanks Mary, hopefully one more surgery will fix it.
Dear Connie, I will keep you all in my prayers and pray that Rusty gets well soon. Hugs, Lois
Really pretty gift tags! Thank you for sharing! Hope little Rusty’s eye is able to be fixed.
Thanks for the pretty gift tag printable, Connie! Prayers for Mr. Mickey and Rusty both.
Oh my, bless his little heart. He’s been through so much, but I’m so thankful he has a home with you and Bob, and he will be well taken care of. Please keep us posted. Thanks so much for these cute gift tags. They will be perfect for my quilt friends!!
Rusty is so fortunate to have you and Builder Bob as his “Pet Parents”. I’ve read Jo’s blog for years and between what I read on her blog, and your blog he seems like such a sweet dog. Please keep us posted on his progress!
Thanks Mary, I will continue to update on our sweet little Rusty.
So sorry to hear about Rusty. Hope all goes well for him. Glad Rusty and Mr. Mickey get along. God Bless you guys and have a very Merry Christmas.
Thanks Vera!
Poor Rusty! I hope everything goes okay with his eye … and his tooth, too!
I can’t believe how awful his eye looks and can’t imagine how he had that in both eyes as his vision is really impaired. We will do what has to be done. I don’t think I told you but we didn’t do the dental with Mickey as his cough has gotten so much worse and I’m afraid our time with him is limited.
So sorry to hear about Rusty. I have never heard of cherry eye before. He’s lucky to have you to care for him.
I had never heard of it before either Patty.
Rusty is so lucky to have found a home with you and Builder Bob. It’s so nice that Mr. Mickey has accepted Rusty so easily. I love checking out your patterns. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Your patterns are so helpful! I love your creativity. I am so sorry to hear about Rusty! I am glad however, he found a good home . Merry Christmas!
Poor little Rusty! He is such a beautiful little guy. Hope everything goes well and works out for all of you. Such a good thing that he and Mr. Mickey get along so well together. I’m so glad you have both of those sweet guys, and they have your love.
Merry Christmas to the Campbell Four!
Thanks Patty, we are so glad they get along so well!
Thank you for the lovely gift tags-I always need some! Poor Rusty, I hope it looks worse than it is. He looks so sweet, & how wonderful that he & Mr. Mickey get along so well!! And I love your new photo😍
Happy holidays to you & your family🎄🎉
You are so welcome Jan, I hope you enjoy using the tags. They say his eye doesn’t hurt but we’ll be getting it taken care of hopefully.
