Have you ever made the Maple Leaf Quilt block? It is from the Classic and Vintage Quilt Series and the Fat Quarter Shop is having a Quilt Along with this beautiful block.
Maple Leaf quilt block
9½” x 9½”
The maple leaf quilt blocks is very simple to make and uses simple half square triangles and squares.
Make 4 orange/cream half square triangles that are 3½-inches square. Cut out 4 orange 3½-inch squares – three are for the leaf and the fourth one is for the stem.
Cut 2 cream 3-inch squares that will be used for the stem also. Press the cream squares in half diagonally and then stitch them to the orange stem block. Fold back and trim.
I made my Maple Leaf block out of batiks that I had in my stash and also a cream Kona cotton. Be sure and stop by Fat Quarter Shop’s blog and see their beautiful Maple Leaf quilt and also checkout the other blocks made by every one who is taking part in the Quilt Along. There are 17 quilters taking part!
