Happenings #14 In My Studio

I’m working on several different things this month and thought I would share them with you. Here is a peek at the quilt project I’m working on today.

Earth Essence Island Batik Collection

A year ago I made a Crazy Quilt using the Earth Essence collection from Island Batik last year when I was an ambassador. This was gifted to my grandson and I still had some of the fabrics left so I pulled them out to make a table runner to use this autumn.

Quilt Blocks

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to make and decided to make a couple of these quilt blocks. I really enjoy making them and have a tutorial for them here.

Another Table Runner

When in doubt about what to make….make a tablerunner! These are so great to use or gift and don’t take much time. I used 2 quilt blocks and added a 2-inch sashing and border. It is ready to be quilted and I’ll do that on my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine.

Starting on my September UFO

I realized this morning that I hadn’t started on my September UFO which was this neat bundle of 8″ x 20″ pieces. This is #3 Twinkles.

After I pieced the green tablerunner I pulled out a Tula Pink neutral fabric to pair up with the pieces. I am going to make a bunch of the quilt blocks using Twinkles and right now that is what is covering my cutting table.

Electric Quilt Blocks

Electric Quilt is doing a sew along that anyone can take part in even if you don’t own EQ8. Each week they are sharing a quilt block and the complete directions on making it.

You’ll want to take part as there are prizes! I love prizes.

Block 2 is Tail of Benjamin’s Kite, I’m using the Feather & Flair batik collection.

Cat Invasion

For the last couple of months these cuties have been at our house. They both belong to our granddaughter. Mr. Puff has decided he wants to be upstairs with me most of the time.

Tito is the other cat and she is very shy and spends most of her time downstairs. Most of the time we never even see her. Next month they will be moving out.

  1. Those table runner fabrics are gorgeous and I love that block. I also really like that block using the Feathers and Flair. Will Rusty be glad to be an only pet again?
