Happenings #13 In My Quilt Studio
Welcome to another Happenings in my quilt studio. I guess I haven’t done one since July!
Well I finally have my new longarm, it took 6 months to get it and I am very happy with how the machine works. There were several things I was told the Diamond would do that…..it doesn’t. I also didn’t realize it didn’t come with more than one needle. I have more ordered and they should show up today.

I also caught a bug over the weekend, I can’t remember the last time I was sick but this has really knocked me down. I’ve got the yucky cough, headache, and just all out blah feeling. I actually had 1 day I never even looked at my computer and I haven’t quilted since Saturday. As soon as I finish this and write a newsletter…..I’m going to lay down. Hopefully I’ll be better soon.
Quilting, Quilting
I have finished several quilts so far and the one thing I really like is the Diamond uses the larger bobbin. I was able to quilt the entire Lori Holt Christmas quilt with one bobbin.

Mini Rainbow Rail Fence Quilt Block
I started making some mini Rainbow Rail Fence quilt blocks the other day with my new fabric collection Feather & Flair. I want to make more of these.

Box Quilt Pillow
Do you remember my Box Quilt Pillow tutorial? I have two of these pillows in the living room and Mr. Puff is very happy to stretch out in the chair with it.

Rusty getting a trim
Rusty gets very nervous about trims so my grandson helped me. His tummy is all trimmed and he did very well.

Wildlife
I thought you might enjoy this photo of a squirrel, a bunny and three doves. There is a blur by the feeders that was another bird. I love being able to watch the wildlife when I am at my computer.

Quilt Backing & Binding Calculator
Would you like help figuring out the yardage you need for your quilt back or your binding? I have a calculator that I’d like you to try out. If you would, please let me know what you think of it. I am working on some new tools to share.

Get well soon. Our whole family had that flu. Terrible.
Take care of yourself!!!! The animals (and humans) are counting on you! Love these new quilts! Absolutely beautiful! I’m starting a tee-shirt quilt for a friends. I remember the basics and hope I do it justice. (Not my fav kind of quilt, lots of tears…..)
Thanks!
Dear Connie. So sorry you are unwell. Isn’t it awful? I know how surprised I was when I had pneumonia last January. It had been a long time since I had even had a head cold! Here’s hoping you start to feel better soon. Don’t rush it though your body needs time to recover. Take care, glad the new machine is working out for you.
hope you feel better soon
Sorry you are under the weather–hope you feel better soon!!
Feel better soon@
Lori
Feel better soon! I love your new toy! The red is beautiful! Hugs 😷🤗 Terry 😊💕
Feel better soon Connie! No fun being sick I had a stomach bug in July it was awful! ❤️🩹. Great work on your quilts!
Connie I hope you’re up and about very soon.
Sorry you caught the bug. I hope you feel better soon. Have fun quilting on your new longarm!
Hi Connie,
Sorry that you’re not feeling well. Hopefully you will be bright eyed & bushy tailed soon.
You sure have a beautiful studio. I try to keep my sewing room in order but……………..
Hopefully the next time I hear from you you’re all well again.
The red is such a pretty color for the longarm! From all the quilts o it, it looks like you are really enjoying it. Those rail blocks are so pretty in those fabrics. I’d say that the kitty has made itself at home quickly! Is Rusty getting used to having them around all the time? I suppose he feels better being trimmed and NOT having to go to the groomer. I hope you’re up and feeling better soon.
How does one get the backing and binding calculator? Is it an app to download?
Your quilt binding and backing calculator works great! Is there a way to download it (maybe as an app) so it would be easy to access?
Get plenty of rest & get well soon! Your quilts are always beautiful. I hope you enjoy your new machine when you are better. IKt looks real nice.
I have a Diamond, bought it as a demo in 2023, made in 2021. I find the tension runs very tight in the top- use Glide mostly. I am 72 and having difficulty in moving it doing intricate FMQ even though I do workout 3X a week. I do not want robotics and am struggling with the machine. I make mostly comfort quilts at least 60 x 80.
Hope you’re feeling better soon Connie! So exciting that your new long arm finally arrived! Enjoy every minute of it! Now go rest and get well!
Love the colors. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Your quilts look great! Take care of yourself and lots of rest.
Congratulations on your new quilting machine! Looks like you are enjoying it by all the quilts completed!
Hope you are feeling much better.
I really enjoy your posts. Get well soon!
A very pretty looking machine and you are getting so much done! Hope you are feeling better!
