I haven’t shared a Happening in my Studio post since last month but I have been busy doing all sorts of things.
I get a lot of emails asking “Where is Rusty?” He is always close by. Last weekend we got 6 inches of snow and I figured he would love playing in it but it was too deep and I had to shovel paths for him. Now there is a frozen crust on the snow and he walks on top of it….every once in a while his paw drops through.

New Quilt
I’ll be sharing a new quilt next week, this is the Blooming Day & Night by Jason Yenter fat quarter bundle and also background yardage of Tula Pink’s True Colors – Fairy Dust White.
When I ordered the background fabric I wasn’t sure what I was making and I ended up being short of fabric and had to order more. Luckily it came yesterday so I’ll be adding borders and hope to get this quilted.
Remember the tension problem on my longarm? I guess it is time to get it adjusted so I can quilt this.

Tula Pink Fairy Dust White
I already started cutting the fabric this morning. Tula Pink’s True Colors Fairy Dust White is so beautiful! I know I’ll have some left and will use that for another quilt project. I’m using my MSQ 45mm rotary cutter and my O’Lipfa Ruler with a lip edge.
I butt the lip edge up to my cutting mat and it makes it very easy to cut a straight line. I’ve been using this ruler for probably 10 or 15 years and recently ordered a new one as the edge gets worn. I think this is the 4th time I’ve bought it.

February UFO Challenge
Have you been working on the UFO Challenge for February? This month my UFO project was 4 bags I had bought last years from Sewers Club. This was the first one – Cupid’s Catch-All, and I’ve been working on the other 3.

I’ll be glad to get these finished! These were monthly kits which are sold out but most of the patterns are still available.

Last Call for the February Color of the Month
I have really enjoyed seeing all of the RED quilt blocks and projects for the February Color of the Month Challenge. Be sure to add yours before the end of the month. I made blocks, a bag and also my Mini Dresden table runner in red this month.

Cardmaking
We are still enjoying getting together every week and making cards. It is a great way to spend time with family.
Taylored Expressions also has a new kit the last Tuesday of the month and this one was called Hex Effects. The minute I saw it I knew I wanted it as it is perfect for a quilter.
Friday night we’ll get together and make more cards.

Sew Sampler February
The Fat Quarter Shop Sew Sampler boxes are always so much fun to get! After the October box I decided to take a break…..well I couldn’t take it and started my subscription up again. I just received the February box and will share that with you soon.

Have a great day!

Oh I love this picture of Rusty. Dogs bring such happiness and laughter to our lives. Can’t wait to see your finished quilt. I had to order some of the Fairy Dust White. It goes perfectly with your other fabrics.

Always ebjoy your posts!
I love the colors and pattern of the Jason Yenter and Tula Pink.
I also love that ruler with the lip. It keeps the ruler steady when cutting!
I do have one complaint on this post, there’s an ad that keeps popping up, I tried to close it and it opened the ad web page, so I paused it, it started again after about 15 seconds, so I just muted it, but again sound turned back on quickly! I finally turned my phones volume down. The ads usually aren’t as aggravating! It’s an ad that a guy says something about growing up in (he says location, possibly someplace in Africa) and he couldn’t do what he is without the help of Walmart. I know ads are necessary, but, like I said, usually not this bad!
What a sweet picture of Rusty!
Rusty’s a handsome fella and lucky to live with you. I know he’s a good boy.
You’re as busy as ever. I’m still trying to get in gear to start back. I think I’m waiting for the weather to clear and warm.
Thanks Beverly, we sure love Rusty, he is such a good dog.
Love the fabric you’ve chosen for your quilt. That background truly works so well. I can’t wait to see it done. The cards are terrific too. I always look forward to seeing the things you make. And, that has to be the cutest picture of Rusty! He’s simply adorable.
Great picture of Rusty! I was watching people in the NE trying to get their dogs out for walks in their snow. Crazy! That’s an unknown problem for our dogs. The Fairy Dust is such a pretty fabric. Great for backgrounds with those bright colors. Those hexies for cards are perfect for a quilter. Your cards are so professional looking.
Great pic of sweet Rusty! I love Tula Pink fabric and look forward to seeing your project with Fairy Dust! Stay safe and warm in that snow and have a great rest of your week.
