I couldn’t wait to share this cute little wall hanging that I made using the new 10th Anniversary Limited Edition Elephant Die from AccuQuilt.  I dug into my Island Batik fabric stash and pulled out 4 bright and colorful batiks that I thought would be perfect for my little elephants.Elephant Walk Wall Hanging on stick
We always get little bundles of 5″ strips of batiks in our ambassador boxes and they were the right size to use with the Accuquilt Elephant die. I also used a neutral batik for the ears and background blocks.

The entire Elephant Walking Wall Hanging tutorial can be found on AccuQuilt’s blog. I also used the new GO! 12″ Qube Companion Corners Set for the blocks. I really had fun making the Elephant Walking wall hanging and couldn’t wait to share it on my blog.

I used black thread and did a simple freemotion straight stitch with my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine. Have you ever done applique like this?

Many times I work without a plan, I just make a few blocks and then decide what I am actually making. When I finished up the 4 Elephant blocks I thought a wall hanging would be fun so I added a wide border on both sides and then sewed the little elephants on it.

I thought it would be fun to add loops to the top of the wall hanging. I then went down along the river and looked for the perfect stick that was kind of straight but had some character.Loops to hang wall hanging
Here is the little wall hanging without the loops for the stick.

I must prefer it with the stick, which do you like best?

When I get time I want to make another wall hanging using the GO! Zoo Animals die that I think I bought 2 years ago and have never used. This elephant die is the perfect companion for that die.

You can find all kinds of tutorials for quilt projects that I have made with the AccuQuilt dies here on my blog.
