Our weather here in Iowa continues to be beautiful, I can’t believe it is November! I spent some time in my quilt studio working on a couple Box Block projects. Little Sadie spent some time with me as Builder Bob was gone, if he is home…..she is his shadow. We have small beds or pillows everywhere for her. I made a pillowcase out of this cute fabric with tigers and lions on it. I made it like a envelope pillow so the sides are closed.
If you missed my Box Quilt Block tutorial, you can find the link below. When I pulled out these neat Island Batik fabrics the other day, I found a bunch of small blocks that I think I made last month……or the month before. I decided to put the blocks together in a small table runner. My plan was to make ONE table topper but plans change. When I had the darker block done I carried it upstairs and it looked beautiful on my new couch…….so I decided to make a couple pillows. I had one of the lighter block made and didn’t want to add anymore blocks to my block UFO basket so I made a couple more and I will have a batik table runner that will make a perfect Christmas gift for our neighbor.

I also spent part of the day watching a class called Greeting Cards in Photoshop on CreativeLive by Khara Plicanic. She is a excellent teacher! I got to watch it free – just yesterday. It was a great class on working with Photoshop and fonts, I really enjoyed it and even learned a couple new things in Photoshop. The class is normally $29 which I think is expensive (just my opinion). I wasn’t able to download the class materials which were mockups. I did learn about a couple new fonts that I really want to buy…….soon. I always try to buy classes when they are on sale.
CreativeLive offers some classes free for a limited time. Take a look and see if there is anything you are interested in.
For a limited time CreativeLive has some goodies but oldies on sale – save up to 50% on selected classes at CreativeLive.
I’ve been taking Sadie on walks, she gets so excited when she sees me start to put on my walking shoes! We got up to 1.3 miles the other day before she got tired. How did I know……she headed right for the car! I can’t believe how smart she is!
Yesterday there was no one at the part and I was able to take off her leash, we are heading back to our car.
We walked down by the boat ramp but she had no interest in the river. I wonder where we will go today.

Sadie is super super cute! I bet she enjoys the outings as much as you do!
I love your batik blocks — I constantly come to your site for inspiration!
It is amazing how smart they are! I’ll bet she loves her outings.
Sadie is such a Sweetie. She has found her forever home and that is a blessing for not only Sadie but for you Connie and for Builder Bob. I always enjoy your Island Batik blocks. Keep up the good weather so you can enjoy walking with Sadie.
Hello Connie
Little Sadie is so cute.
I loved your blocks and colors that you choose.
I think pillows will be great.
Have a nice week
Sadie is a cutie!
It’s so fun to see several projects using the box block all laying together like that. It definitely shows how the block can change when it’s combined with more. And seeing that the same basic fabrics look so different in a different block.
Sadie is so cute. She has you trained with beds everywhere. My Jack is the same. He has a bed in every room. Not to mention the sofa and my bed! 😀
