One of my favorite notions is the glue stick as it helps keep fabric in place better than pins in many cases!

  7. I use and like so many notions — difficult to name a favorite, ,,,but, I use a short, wooden shish kabob stick as a stiletto, It is inexpensive, easily replaced, does not put a burr on the sewing machine needle.

  8. Cute fabrics! I love my thread cutter!

  9. Mary A DelPrincipe says:

I don’t know if this is where I should enter for the giveaway after watching the Bella Rose unboxing. Connie said to enter on her blog. The fabric and patterns are beautiful!
I’m just starting to applique, so the 18mm rotary cutter seems like a great tool to use! I also like using a Frixion pen to mark fabric – such a wonderful way to get accurate lines and they disappear with the iron!

  10. My favorite notions are my rulers. They come in real handy from cutting out pieces, to marking lines and patterns for hand quilting, to making a line sometimes, for hand attaching the binding. Start to finish they are a straight shooter.

  11. Linda Schoen says:

    Love the True Grips.

  12. I would just like the box and the tissue paper, lol. It’s so pretty. But the contents is very nice with beautiful fabrics, patterns and notions. The Peeps add a cute touch. My favorite notion is the Creative Grids Stripology Ruler. So easy to cut multiple strips with it.

  13. My favorite sewing notion is a beautiful seam ripper that my husband bought me ( with a little help from me 😉 ) it is made from the bottom portion of an old silverware knife. It fits perfectly in my hand and it makes my happy.

  14. My favorite notion is a stilleto. Use it for everything!

  15. Barb Applegate says:

My favorite notion is a glue stick to hold all things in place.

  16. Eileen Wojtowicz says:

Beautiful fabrics. Makes it feel like spring!

  17. Janet Fedor says:

Beautiful spring colors for the quilt block.
My new favorite notion is the thread cutter that uses old rotary blades.
I have had the true grips on my rulers for a long time. have to replace them when new rulers join the collection
How do you keep glue sticks from drying out?

  18. Donna in KS says:

I enjoyed the Bella Rose opening, very nice fabric and several quite useful notions! I have appreciated your blog for a long time but never commented. Thank you for your give away. I’d love to win this month!!

  19. Jenn Burwell says:

Thanks for sharing what came in your box. I like the orange/peach fabric the most. Good luck to all!

  20. Those fabrics are beautiful, as is the quilt. Seems like you are on a roll with making Drunkard’s Path blocks lately. I’ve not used the 18mm cutter much, but don’t know how we ever got along without our rotary cutters (and rulers). Stay warm there.

  21. Kathy Wolfe says:

    I love them all!

  22. The Bella Rose box is beautiful! I think I might have to try the 18mm rotary cutter and the glue pen also looks interesting.
The unboxing videos are always a treat. Thanks for sharing!!

  26. Debbie Lee says:

I love the Bella Rose colors and all the gifts, are great. I saw someone say they could just flip the ruler around using the true grips but I didn’t get it, they are a real held even if the flip doesn’t register for me. lol I just bought the small rotary cutter, I love them all. God is good, everyday! 😊

  27. Madeline Franklin says:

The True Gripes are my favorite notion. They are so helpful when you are using your rulers to cut fabric. Nice box of fabric and patterns with cute ideas. Thank you for sharing!

    Love it.

  29. I love the idea of a glue pen. I haven’t used any, but that would be my favorite notion to try.

  30. I always enjoy watching the unboxing videos. I wish I could afford a subscription to even one of these companies, but it just isn’t in my budget. I will need to get those anti-slip dots and see if I can cut my fabric better.

  31. Kathy in WV says:

Oh my…I’m having a “duh” moment…I couldn’t find where to comment so I did ask “how” on the youtube video…so sorry. My favorite quilting tool (I have so many favorites) would have to be a rotary cutter…I’m so glad the days are gone when using scissors to cut out block pieces, large strips and everything inbetween with scissors. The Bellarose box is very pretty and was full of such lovely and helpful items…I find it a little pricey but the March box seemed to be well worth the price. Thank you for the giveaway….I’m always amazed at your generosity. Blessings from West Virgina….

  32. Billie Shannon says:

I love the looks of that glue pen with the flowers on it. Much prettier than the normal one.

  33. Carol Delheimer says:

drunkard’s path templates interest me ! I have been thinking about them for a while.

  34. Jean McKinstry says:

My favourite notion is found in the mechanic’s and builders’ stores. An extendable magnetic wand. It picks up pins, bobbins, a steel ruler and even scissors that fall to the floor. A life saver for when something falls right at the back of my sewing desk. After this being my #1, the next best item would be the corner curve template.

  35. Connie Kauffman says:

I don’t know if scissors count as a notion, but I love all my Karen Kay Buckley scissors!

  36. Connie, my favorite notion is the adhesive grips for my rulers. As a relatively new quilter, I had the hardest time in the beginning cutting my fabrics straight until I found those! LIFESAVER, not to mention how it helped to lessen my frustration. 🙂
(p.s., It is great that you share the “unboxing” with us! Thanks a bunch.)

  37. Love the spring fabrics. Will visit Bella Rose Quilt shop for spring fabric and check out the subscription box. Thanks for sharing.

  48. Pam Shallenberger says:

My fav tool is the clearly perfect slotted trimmer. With this I like using the smaller rotory cutter.

  49. I love all your unboxing videos. My favorite notion is the glue pen. I use it for basting my binding. Thanks for all your give aways.

  50. Judy Morrison says:

Are the templates for the Drunkards Path quilt considered a notion? If not the small rotary cutter is my favorite.

  51. Janice James says:

  61. I like the idea of senting the plastic templates with the other things.

  62. Christa Harrison says:

Hi Connie! Loved the video on the unboxing. I got to say my favorite and most treasured notion would have to be my rulers. I couldn’t get by without them that’s for sure. Thanks so much for the giveaway it is so nice of you to do that. Anyway have a wonderful day!

  63. Sandy Allen says:

I haven’t heard of this subscription box before! I may have to look at it.

My favorite “notion” is not something that is sold in a quilt shop. I have a soldering tool that was my father-in-law’s that has two different tips. One is pointed but flat on one side that I can use as a stiletto; the other side has a prong that is great for pulling threads up from the bobbin. It’s so useful!

  64. bonnie mills says:

I’d love a smaller rotary cutter for smaller blocks. Thanks for all the shared info.

  65. My favorite & most useful notion would be my rotary cutter. This notion has saved me time & pain-free cutting of fabrics. Gone are the days of scissor cutting!!

  66. I never thought of using fabric glue to hold my projects, but was hesitant until I saw Sewline’s fabric glue- It’s not a permanent!!
    Can’t wait to try it!
    Thanks for the new tip!
    jane

  67. Believe it or not but my favorite notion is Jack the Ripper. I can’t imagine taking out stitches without it. And what a coincident that I just finished a French Roses quilt for my great grand daughter Bella
Rose (short for Bellamy Rose). Thank you for sharing.

  68. I had no idea Olfa made an 18mm rotary cutter! Using one of these would really make life easier on those smaller pieces. I’d love one of these! This Bella Rose box looks wonderful!

  69. Lillian K says:

Interesting box! I am always interested in a new pincushion.
    Thank you

  70. Love the latest Bella rose box/unboxing. Hope I win.

  71. Niki Barber says:

I’ve never tried a smaller rotary cutter, that looks neat. I like the drunkards path pattern, have made a couple of tables runners using it. I use mt prison fabric pens a lot for many patterns, especially half square triangle

    1. Oh, and my favorite notion is the Stripology ruler, with a rotary cutter. I can cut squares so fast!

  76. I collect pin cushions and plastic or old metal thimbles. I love finding them in unexpected places like my thrift store or at estate sales. Thank you for another opportunity to win treasures! Have a wonderful evening!

  77. Patricia Melilli says:

I am liking the Sewline glue pen. How handy!

  78. My favorite notion is my rotary cutter. I also like the true grips to keep my ruler from moving. Love all the things in the Bella Rose box.

  80. Carrie Henry says:

Definitely my rotary cutter. After using one to cut material for quilts I can’t go back to scissors.

  81. Elaine Menter says:

The True Grips are absolutely essential. Nothing is worse than having that ruler slip.

  82. Julie Jones says:

If I can pick only one, it would be the rotary cutter, but the notion I recently discovered is the glue pen. Who would’ve thought it would be so useful??

  83. Penny Wilkens says:

The glue! I really like the idea you can use the glue to hold the pieces together until you are ready to sew together!!

  84. Sandy Hammond-Cavasher says:

My favorite notion is my rotary cutter. As long as it has a sharp blade in it.

  85. Linda Ivey says:

  87. Cindy McNatt says:

    Hey Connie,
I love my rotary cutter….such a time saver.. Remember the days before rotary cutting, was that ever time consuming. Guess that is really telling my age (let’s not go there). Glad they are behind us now. Of course there are still times we have to get out our scissors and do it the old fashion way…

  88. Lisa England says:

Just one favorite notion? That’s a tough one. But one thing I use often and wouldn’t want to do without is my seam roller. I do a lot of FPP so a roller is really handy.

  89. Jeanine from SE Iowa says:

My favorite notion would be my rotary cutter. What did we do without them?? Such a time saver.

  90. Carol Sharp says:

I love the Bella Rose fabrics. They look so springy and delicate. My favorite notion at the moment is my 2 foot cutter (don’t remember the exact name of it) but the True Grips could become another favorite if I ever get them. I don’t have the mini rotary cutter either so would love to try that notion, too. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas and patterns with us.

  91. Fred Austgen says:

I’ve not ever used a glue pen. But for doing the drunkards path, curved blocks, I can see how it would be useful over the pinning method! And though I don’t usually like pastels, this particular collection is really pretty! The rose shades work nicely and maybe it’s about time I that I move away from my earthtones and Halloween and Christmas! Hugs! HOpe you are doing well!

  92. Nancy Lewis says:

My favorite notion is my Quilters Select rulers. They do not move. The best ruler I have ever bought.

  93. Kathy Whetstine says:

Cute stuff, I like the opening of these boxes with the surprise of goodies! The colors you got today are the colors I’ve been shopping for my daughter in law but I haven’t decided on a pattern yet and it has to be king size lol. But I did get a king size one done for my other son so it’s doable😅 I don’t have a favorite notion i don’t think but I do love my rotary cutters.

  94. Kathie Mayer says:

HI I Loved the Bella Rose. I think my favorite notion was the small olfa rotary cutter. I do a lot of applique. Thanks

  96. Pauline M says:

What a beautiful box! I especially like the Drunkards Blossom pattern and the fabrics to make it with!

  97. Sandy Smith says:

My favorite notion is my thimble. Currently I like to do a lot of hand work. It helps to protect my fingers.

  98. Sara Fridley says:

My rotary cutter is my all-time favorite notion. But I really also love those little clear dots to put onto rulers so they don’t slip. I’ve put them onto nearly all of my rulers.

  99. Susan Green says:

I’m not sure if it’s considered a notion, but my Roxanne thimble is my favorite. Thank you!

  100. Karen Addleman says:

I like the true grip dots. They are great on rulers and templates. I especially like them on the rulers for machine quilting. They keep you from slipping.

  101. Diana Rothermel says:

Love the smaller mini rotary cutter! But the True Grips are a close second!

  102. Addie Lancaster says:

I could really use those ruler grips – never have seen them before and I’m sure they would be a great asset when cutting.

  108. Rita Montgomery says:

I love that mini rotary cutter! I really can use something like that!

My favorite notion is seam ruler that you can draw 1/4 inch on each side of the ruler to make your seams.

  110. Diana L Tomlin says:

True Grips are my FAVE! They sure make my life easier…
I’ve been meaning to order more as I have a couple new rulers
that I need to add them to. When I am cutting fabric, they keep my
rulers from sliding and cutting wrong.
I hate to admit it but I have cursed many cuts before I started using them LOL!

  111. Suzanne Allen says:

    Love the little rotary cutter!

  112. Regina Mathis says:

I love that fancy fabric glue pen! I love everything I saw. Actually, I love everything “quilts!” I appreciate you and everything you do! I’m glad that the art of quilting is growing and so many young people are learning it, too. At one time, I was afraid it was going to be a dying art, but I am glad I was wrong.

  113. Kathy Luehrs says:

Rotary cutter – I love it – especially since I’m left handed and can use the universal one. Not like my sewing scissors.

  114. Suzanne Allen says:

I love the rotary cutter! Nice size!

  115. Lisa Osipowicz says:

The 18mm Olfa rotary cutter is something I’ve never even considered for smaller, more intricate pieces. My favorite of the goodies!

    1. Marcia Elliott says:

Love the templates so much nicer than paper or plastic sheets. Also enjoyed the video.

      Marcia Elliott

  116. Nancy Cook says:

Love all the material you get in the boxes. I think I’m going to look for the true grip dots. My rulers are always slipping and I have funny cuts on my material. The glue stick is great, started paper piecing and it’s great for the first piece of fabric, better then pins. It’s nice seeing your work and thanks for the great library that you let us access.

  117. Becky Morton says:

I liked the drunkards path templates. I have never made the block but would like to. This would make it easier and could use the 5” squares to do it.

  118. I love the small cutter and the glue pen. Always fun to watch your unboxing videos.

  119. Oh, the True Grips .. a ruler game changer .. nothing a frustrating as “just the right amount of fabric” and the ruler slips ..

  120. Janet Bland says:

I love a good stuffed pincushion with thin quilting pins!

  121. My favorite notion has to be the Sew-line glue pins. I use them for paper piecing, binding, and regular piecing.
