I think you are going to love this quilt pattern! It may look difficult but the Tassel quilt is actually made with one simple quilt block. Everyone knows I like fast and easy quilt patterns!

Tassel is a quilt pattern that I designed for Island Batik using their Soil & Seeds batik collection.

I actually made this quilt last spring and sent it to Island Batik. I am embarrassed to say that I forgot all about it (my bad). Here it is hanging from the deck rail of our river house.

I just received an order for patterns from Island Batik and that is when I realized that I had never added this pattern to my shop or website.

Oh my gosh, I was getting photos for this post and look at this! My big, beautiful cutting table in my big quilt studio!

I didn’t realize how spoilt I was with my studio. I have no desire to layout a large quilt on the floor now as I have no space in my “temporary” studio.

My old knees just can’t take getting up from the floor anymore. Notice I said getting up……getting down isn’t a problem.

Builder Bob was sweet enough to hold the quilt up by the river. Isn’t it a beautiful quilt!

Save this for later!

I'll email you this post so you can come back to it later.

Don't worry, I promise not to spam you.

If you are new to my website then you should know that I really like to create fast and easy quilt patterns.

Tassel
48 x 68

Tassel is made up of 6 blocks that use a combination of flying geese and half square triangle sections. You can see the blocks in the photo below.

This would also be so neat in Christmas colors, let me know if you would like to see that. The flying geese would look like trees!

Tassel is now available in my quilt shop and on sale!

I really like this one Connie. Odd, cuz I’m not generally a fan of brown, but this one really shines. I guess it’s the high contrast makes it so pretty? Absolutely LOVE the photo of BB holding it up, with the line of trees reflecting in the water. Yeah, you had some studio… We always knew that, even if you didn’t, lol. You would not be happy in my RV, for sure! My table is not even big enough for two standard placemats across from each other. I guess I should have measured before I put the bindings on! Oops. But, I manage somehow. The really hard part is actually getting the machine out of the rear closet and set up on said table. It’s heavy, really heavy and I have a serger taking the rest of the closet floor, so couldn’t fit a little one in too. Still consider myself lucky tho, get to sew and travel.

Hi Connie, good to hear from you. Your quilts are beautiful. I think I could spend a life time in your sewing room. Could I make Tassel larger by making more blocks? Maybe by 2 more blocks each way.

  10. What a beautiful quilt!!! Your patterns are always so inspiring!!!

Oh this is really beautiful! I love how you used the batik and still honored their uniqueness with big pieces. The border is really fun!
Forgetting this quilt? Never, and it looks at home at the shore. Thanks for doing these wonderful inspiring patterns.
