Table topper and 3 place mats
This post may contain affiliate links which won’t change your price but will share a commission.I used some more of the strips I had cut for my baby quilt to make a table topper and place mats.
The table topper or center piece is 14 inches square – the strips range from 1.5 – 3 inches, notice I pieced some of the strips. This is just a basic log cabin that started with a 2.5 inch square.
For my place mats I cut some 1.5 x 2.5 pieces and sewed them into 2 strips about 12 inches long.
Everything is from my stash; when the grand-kids and I made pillows last week I had pulled out some old polyester batting for them and I decided to use more of it for the place-mats. I used a template to mark the design that I quilted in the center.
Did you happen to notice that I only made 3 place mats? Most of the time it is just my dad, Builder Bob and me so this works perfectly.
These all 3 table mats are really best , i like this designer table mats, table mats protects our furniture. These all are really a best designs.
That table looks so inviting. Found you through Sunni's page link.
Very nice place mats, Connie!! And the table topper is a really nice addition!! Whoop whoop!!
Love the quilting on that mat.
I love the quilting – it is stunning! I have been wanting to make place mats but I just haven't sat down and done it yet!
Super idea. Love the simplicity of your placemats, but the quilting really makes them sing! I have a ton of little itty bits of scraps and can't seem to throw them away… now i know they can have a "home" in some placemats. Thank you for sharing such a brilliant idea!
What a neat idea. I'll have to make some of those.
I do not have the internet and I am very sorry that I can not go to your blog often. You have a very interesting blog and very interesting product.

Cool place mats! I have three for us too. One for me and my husband and one for Uncle Jim! He comes up for coffee and breakfast on the weekends. That's all I made too!

What a great way to liven up your table. I love that everything came from scraps and your stash. Using the stencil to quilt the center gives a nice affect.
