Once again I am using my Swirly pattern and the Alpine Ice collection from Island Batik to make the Swirly quilted table runner. I think the colors in this collection are so rich.
It took 3 simple blocks to make this tablerunner.
The blocks in the tablerunner use 5 different coordinating fabrics and the addition of a background color.
When I made the Cherry Berry Swirly wallhanging I showed what happened when you used too many different fabrics with this design.
5 colors work much better than 10.
My piecing and quilting was done with Aurifil thread
I used one of the Alpine Ice batiks for the back of my tablerunner. I chose the border batik for the binding, you can see that I am getting ready to add it to the front of the tablerunner using my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine.

It is so nice to finally be able to go outside and take some pictures! I think we are going to have beautiful weather today, yesterday I cleaned up all of my flower beds and soon it will be time to buy mulch.

Alpine Ice is a batik collection from Island Batik, I also shared a tutorial for the Alpine Snowflakes quilt. If you missed it, be sure and check it out.
The Swirly quilted table runner could be made with other fabrics. Using a bundle of coordinating fabrics makes it easy to create your quilt. You can find some great deals on fabric here also.
You can find the Swirly quilt pattern in my shop, and Etsy.

That block made for a quick but so cute runner!
Such a cute runner and so different from the spinning design in the pattern…
