Over the weekend I finished my Strippy Spools quilt that I made while taking part in the Fat Quarter Shop QAL. I really think it turned out great!

Strippy Spools Quilt

The Strippy Spools quilt is a fun quilt project for confident beginners and seasoned quilters alike. The pattern offers two size options:

  • Lap Size: 53.5″ x 66.5″
  • Twin Size: 70.5″ x 82.5″

You can find the Strippy Spools Quilt Pattern at Fat Quarter Shop.

Berry Market Fabrics

I choose the Berry Market Rolie Polie by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs. I just love the colors and prints in her collection. Along with the 40 – 2 1/2 inch strips I also picked up yardage as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to use as my “spool” fabric. I also used white Bella solid for my background fabric.

I ended up choosing the light blue print for my quilt binding.

Strippy Spools Quilt Outside

Our weather has been hot and humid. You definitely don’t need to cover up with a quilt today!

Rusty was sweet enough to pose with my quilt.

Quilt on a Fence

I always like to hang my quilts outside on our fence and of course little Rusty is such a trooper about posing.

Caught Rusty with his eyes closed!

Twin Size Strippy Spools Quilt

I made the twin size quilt that is 70 1/2 x 82 1/2 and you are seeing it here on a full size bed. Have you taken part in the QAL? If so, I would love to see your quilt.

Rusty

While taking photos of my quilt, I snapped this cute one of Rusty. Everyone who visits us loves him. Have a great day from Rusty and me!

Love the photos of Rusty. He has become a regular little ham, but now he looks as though he is thoroughly enjoying himself.
