Spinners Table Runner

Table runners are one of my favorite quilt projects to make. It is a wonderful way to try out a new quilt block and still end up with a beautiful quilted item. I used my Spinners quilt pattern to make this tablerunner.

12″ x 36″

I made 3 of the blocks to make a nice size of tablerunner for my living room. The fabrics are batiks from Island Batik that were leftover from a project I made last year. It might be hot here in Iowa right now but fall is right around the corner and this will look perfect then.
spinner runner blocksI always like to show the difference that quilting makes on a quilt project. Here is the tablerunner all pieced together before I quilted it.spinner runner blocksHere  is a photo of the same quilt block after being quilted. I just did a simple meandering stitch on the background. There is no quilting on the half square triangles.spinner runner blocksIt is always a challenge to use my leftover batik scraps and I had just enough of these to make the tablerunner. Spinners runner on deck floorThe blocks are 12 inches – I used my AccuQuilt GO! to make fast work of cutting out all of the pieces. The Half Square 3″ finished HST die is one of the first dies I ever bought and one of my favorites, it can be used in any of the AccuQuilt Go! cutters.

Connie this is an amazing design. I love the way you’ve used a different block between the two end ones.
As usual this runner will look very nice in many colour combinations. A Christmas theme would be lovely for the festive season. Great Christmas gift too.
Thanks for always sharing such interesting designs.

  2. Lovely Tablerunner Dear. I like how trying a block and then creating a practical project that is small and time manageable can also become such a pretty gift to give.

Hello Connie; This is a beautiful table runner! The two blocks you chose to create look fabulous together. I may have to take the time today and create a few of these blocks. A great and dear friend is having a Birthday soon and this would be something she would love. I have not followed the links you have highlighted yet, but will after I have posted my comment. It is also great because the half square triangle die you used is one that I actually do have! Thank you for designing and sharing another magnificent project! Have a splendid day!

  4. What a nice item Connie. Love the contrast of color on white, very clean, very fresh. Thanks for sharing again.
