Table runners are one of my favorite quilt projects to make. It is a wonderful way to try out a new quilt block and still end up with a beautiful quilted item. I used my Spinners quilt pattern to make this tablerunner.
12″ x 36″
I made 3 of the blocks to make a nice size of tablerunner for my living room. The fabrics are batiks from Island Batik that were leftover from a project I made last year. It might be hot here in Iowa right now but fall is right around the corner and this will look perfect then.
I always like to show the difference that quilting makes on a quilt project. Here is the tablerunner all pieced together before I quilted it.Here is a photo of the same quilt block after being quilted. I just did a simple meandering stitch on the background. There is no quilting on the half square triangles. It is always a challenge to use my leftover batik scraps and I had just enough of these to make the tablerunner. The blocks are 12 inches – I used my AccuQuilt GO! to make fast work of cutting out all of the pieces. The Half Square 3″ finished HST die is one of the first dies I ever bought and one of my favorites, it can be used in any of the AccuQuilt Go! cutters.
Have fun quilting and thanks for stopping by!
