Sew Sampler August 2024 Box
Every month the Fat Quarter Shop sends out a subscription box that contains fabric and notions. This is the Sew Sampler Monthly Subscription Quilting Box. It is always fun to see what you get.
Fables of Fall
When I opened the box and saw that it was Fables of Fall, I knew it would be fall colors. I am so ready for autumn! There is a quilt pattern called Verbena which is very interesting.
The Clammy 6″
The Clammy 6″ template is used in the Verbena quilt pattern! I didn’t notice that when I was doing my video. There are 5 shapes that can be made with this template and I can’t wait to try it out.
Olfa 28mm rotary cutter
The Olfa 28mm rotary cutter is the very first rotary cutter I ever used. When the large rotary cutter came out I refused to try it as I really, really liked this one.
Eventually I was sent the Olfa 45mm and it took a while but I ended up using it all the time. The 28mm is great for cutting around small applique.

Pieceful Baskets #5
Each month there is a block of the month in the Sew Sampler. This is only my second box and I haven’t made the July block yet but I’m going to try and get both done this month. I’m not sure what fabrics I’ll use.
Sewline White Mechanical Fabric Pencil
Have you ever tried the Sewline White Mechanical Fabric Pencil? It marks a white line on dark fabrics and then you can use the eraser to remove the lines.
Folk & Lore 10 inch fabric squares
There were 24 pieces in the Folk & Lore collection by Fancy That Design House of 10-inch squares. This is called a Junior Layer Cake, beautiful colors!
Folk & Lore Fabrics for Verbena Quilt
These are the fabrics to be used with the 6″ Clammy template for the Verbena quilt. The Fat Quarter Shop also has a finishing kit for the Verbena quilt pattern.
Quilt Projects from July Sew Sampler Box
Here are the quilt projects I made using the 30’s Playtime fabrics and projects from my July Sew Sampler box. The woven stars pattern was for a long table runner but I decided to make a small table topper instead.
