I think this is my favorite pillow…..this week. This Roly Poly owl definitely makes me think of Fall.

A couple of weeks ago Mary from The Tulip Patch had a tutorial showing how to make a cute owl with the AccuQuilt GO! Baby and 3.5-inch Drunkard’s Path die. If you click on her link you can see how she made it.

I added a 1.5-inch strip of batik to the block and then grabbed out some of my neutral-colored string blocks.

I pieced some string blocks and then I cut 2 blocks on the diagonal and added the pieces on each side.

Add them to all 4 sides of your owl block.

I ended up with a 13 inch block and then added a 3.5 inch border to give me a 19 block.

I recently bought the Tattered Leaves die from Sizzix and cut some little leaves out of batik.

The leaves aren’t very big – about 3.5 inches but have a lot more detail than the AccuQuilt dies and looked perfect on this pillow.

I did an envelope back on this pillow and the finished size is 18 inches.

No coordination here – just some fun pillows for Fall. Hope you enjoy them and the Roly-Poly Owl Pillow Tutorial.
