Oops, I guess I should have said Orca Bay Pillow done, as you can see the quilt top is still waiting to be quilted. I made the pillow with the leftover pieces I had from Bonnie Hunter’s Orca Bay Mystery Quilt. You can read more and see a better picture of my quilt here.
I just added a 2 ½ inch border to the block I showed the other day.
I used Warm & Natural batting and a piece of muslin for the backing of the top. Then made my pillow back from more of the black fabric. It is a 16 inch pillow.
I used Superior Bottom Line thread in a taupe color because it is fine and isn’t as noticeable as a heavier thread. With our white kitties I don’t see this pillow getting used too much.
Builder Bob has been putting a bathroom in the basement and tomorrow I get change from my quilting clothes to my painters bibs as I have walls to paint………..I’d rather be painting with crayons using the new book I got from Kiera. I have all my supplies now!

Gorgeous pillow, Connie. The design you created really pops! Love the way you quilted it, also. The meandering loop-d-loop is so effective. Can't wait to see how you quilt the quilt – it is so wonderful.
Good luck with the painting. I love to paint – now that's sick, huh?! If I lived closer, I'd run over and help.

Your Orca Bay is just lovely. And the quilt is lovely too. And it's not finished…
You don't know how lucky you are to have all those tissues and books and so on.
Enjoy them and show me (or us) what you can do.

I really like to make matching pillows for my throw quilts — I've done that several times and feel like it 'finishes' a lap quilt for me! I'm really curious about the crayon book — what's it about and do you REALLY use crayons?!?! ๐
