New Quilt Pattern Sparkles
This post may contain affiliate links which won’t change your price but will share a commission.I have finally finished the Sparkles quilt pattern and I think you are going to love it!
I gave you a sneak peek at it back in July and had great plans to get the pattern written right away. Sigh….it didn’t happen but I am tickled to finally have it done.
Quilt sizes
I decided to offer the pattern in several different sizes which include:
- 43″ x 52″
- 53½” x 63″
- 64½” x 75½”
Sparkles uses one simple block for a very modern look.
The beautiful batiks used for this quilt are from the Sunny Side Up collection from Island Batik. I first showed this quilt when I was doing the Beat the Heat blog hop.
When I first designed the quilt pattern, I used the Petal Pushers collection from Island Batik. Isn’t this a bright and happy quilt!
I actually finished piecing this quilt before we moved and then it was set aside as we worked on the house. Moving is a lot more work the older you get!
Here is Miss Sadie and Mr Mickey helping me put the borders on it, I sure miss that large living room!
I have this quilt all pieced and even took a picture of it before I packed it away.
While working on the pattern, I pulled it out and now I plan to quilt it. That will be a challenge as it is big, this is the 64½” x 75½” size and I’ll be freemotion quilting it on my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine.
I haven’t made the baby quilt yet. Maybe I should make it before quilting the big one! I bet it wouldn’t take me anytime at all to get it done.

Yes the Sparkles is very nice and so versatile thinking about making it an I Spy variation. Would also love to see the change you made to the workroom and especially the lights. I would like an entire lesson on lights. I have to go outside to match colors and have tried many different lights, light bulbs, lamps, etc.
Thanks in advance and thanks for all the wonderful ideas and patterns. Hi to Sadie!
p. s. We got snow too.
Your quilt is beautiful. I do enjoy following your blog. You asked if I’d like to see pictures and posts of the changes to your sewing studio…YES!! I would love it.
Both colorways are gorgeous. I love Island Batik fabrics and the patterns you create quilts with them. I can see this pattern done in fabulous Autumn colors and also in traditional Christmas Reds, Greens and Whites. Autumn Blessings Dear…<3
