Suzy is a fellow Island Batik Ambassador and I was very excited to take part in this blog hop and receive a copy of her wonderful book on applique.

She has designed twelve different blocks that can be used in quilts and other projects. The Applique Batik Quilted table runner that I picked for my project is called Jeweled and is in her book on page 53.

A couple of days ago I shared a sneak peek at my project from Folk Art Quilted Traditions and showed some of the applique that I did with my straight stitch Singer sewing machine that is 65 years old. My applique is done with a free-motion darning foot and some wiggle stitching.

In Folk Art Quilted Traditions Suzy includes complete information on fabric, supplies, and several different types of applique you can use. All of her applique patterns are full-size also.

The block I used for my table runner was Folk Art Quilted Traditions Block 9.

If you have always wanted to try applique I would definitely recommend this book. It would be a great addition to anyone’s quilt book library. There are full-color photos and diagrams throughout the book.

Just take a look at the cover…..beautiful!The fabrics that I used for my Folk Art Quilted Traditions table runner are from Island Batik and were included in my last ambassador goodie box. This month we are to make a project for the Pumpkin FestI just had to share these cute decorations for Halloween that my neighbor gave to my daughter. She completely decorates her house inside and out for Halloween and will really enjoy these! Isn’t that the neatest candy corn! It is made from wood and would be cute on my Candy Corn table topper that I made a few years ago…….I think my daughter has that!
