Some of you have been asking about Rusty and here he is with me and my new Christmas wall hanging.

The Christmas templates set includes 9 large templates and 9 small templates.

Bell – 8.5″x8″ and 3.5″x4″
Mitten – 6″x7.25″ and 2.75″x3.5″
Holly Leaf – 4.4″x8″ and 2″x3.5″
Bow – 7″x8.5″ and 3″x3.5″
Poinsettia – 8″x8.5″ and 3.25″x3.5″
Holiday Tree – 7.5″x8.5″ and 3″x3.5″
Stocking Cap -6.25″x8″ and 3″x4″

I used the ugly Christmas sweater for my wall hanging.

I used the ugly Christmas sweater for my wall hanging. I thought you might like to see another photo of Rusty too.

Black & Gold Christmas Batiks

I have a tote with leftover Christmas fabrics in it and I found these beautiful black & gold holiday fabrics from Island Batik. I am also sure I received them in my first Island Batik Ambassador box.

I traced around the ugly Christmas sweater template on Heat n Bond Lite

Ugly Christmas Sweater Wall Hanging

I had just enough of the cream reindeer background to be able to cut out (4) 11-inch squares which was a perfect size for the ugly Christmas sweater template.

Add The Small Templates

I picked four of the small templates to add to the ugly Christmas sweaters. I added paper to the back of the fabric and stitched along the edges.

Adding Detail

I used a 1½” sashing to join the blocks together and then decided to add some detail to the sweaters. I just did some freemotion stitching to add the collar and cuffs.

It was fun to add some simple freemotion stipple quilting to the wall hanging and I had just enough of the black snowflake batik to make my binding.

My grandson has already called dibs on this as his living room is gold and black. I have a feeling he will leave it up all year!
