I have a beautiful Black Diamond quilt to share that I made with batiks in browns and greens.

You are going to really love this quilt pattern and there is a free quilt pattern! Keep reading!

Black Diamond Quilt Pattern

The quilt pattern is a Fat Quarter Shop exclusive and they also have a kit in black and white fabrics that can be purchased.

I choose the Destination Amazon Fat Quarter Bundle | Karen Gibbs for Banyan Batiks. Last week the bundle was on sale and sold out. I hope they will get it back in. The pattern tells you how much fabric to buy.

To easily make the blocks, the Half Rectangle trimmer comes in handy.

You’ll also use the Half Rectangle trimmer to make the Ohio Star quilt blocks.

It was nice to have a design wall so I could lay out all of the blocks before stitching the rows together.

Once I had all of the quilt blocks sewed together, it was time to add the Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 batting and backing and quilt it.

When you are free-motion quilting, it really helps to have a table behind and to the left of your sewing machine to support the quilt.

I also took a few photos of the quilt next door at my neighbor’s house.

The colors I picked work perfectly in our living room and I also have the Black Diamond quilt hanging on my Quilt Keeper hanger.

I love this quilt pattern! I’m going to give it a whirl. Your color combinations on this quilt are perfect for the fall. I look forward to your blog. Thank you Connie for all you do. Wishing you the best!

  2. Ho Ho!! I thought the green and brown table runner was the same as the Black Diamond pattern…. My mistake, they are not alike at all!!?. But still attractive. I think I can possibly still make a table runner using the Black Diamond with some adjustments. Love everything you do!!! Thanks so much.

  5. Oh Connie, this is a gorgeous quilt. I love the design and the fabric colors. I want to make this. I’m curious if you think this could be cut out with an AccuQuilt cube ?

  6. OMG I can’t believe I have the pattern for this wonderful quilt that you inspired me to make. I just love the color theme you chose. You sent me the name of it but at that time there was no pattern. I was going to try and figure it out and now I have all I need. Now to choose the right fabrics. I hope FQ Shop gets in the same color you used. Thanks so much for all your help with projects.

Gorgeous Connie. Almost got my quilting room set up. We move provinces in June and have been busy painting and doing Reno’s and canning, enjoying our new scenic surroundings. Hoping to get back sewing soon. Blessings!

I didn’t see directions for the diamond shapes in the Black Diamond quilt. Why not?
