I have my little wall hanging all finished and I can almost hear the birds chirping……wait a minute….I really can! The robin who built a nest under our deck has 3 more little ones……or maybe it is a new mother who stole the nest since it was already built.
I used the Simple Shapes die by Edyta Star, which AccuQuilt was nice enough to send me to review. This die can be used with the AccuQuilt GO! or GO! Baby. Every shape you see on the package is part of the die.
I did raw edge applique using HeatnBond Lite as my fusible. Be sure to always buy the Lite, the Ultra will gum up your needle and be very stiff…..trust me.
I used all batiks in this project. Most of the pieces were fat quarters that I have picked up at various stores so I’m not sure if they are Island Batik, Hoffman, Timeless Treasures or whoever.
Notice the little pink flower I put down in the grass, I can see these made as stalks of corn!
Don’t forget that for a limited time you can get Edyta Sitar’s pattern Spring Showers for free. It uses the Simple Shapes die and also the Dancing Umbrella. I have both dies and someone I think will love this table runner so I’ll be making it.
It is always fun to see the back of the quilted piece.
The river goes up and down and……up
The Mississippi was down last week and several big boats were put in, then the river came up again because of all the rain up north and here. So far they haven’t had to take to boats out again or move them to another marina. No rain today but we are supposed to get some tomorrow.
Sometimes I like seeing the shadows on my quilting. The deck rails look beautiful all sealed…….the floor…..still isn’t done because of all the rain. Hopefully we will get some dry weather and my grandson Xander is going to come out and help me with the deck.

LOVE this one! now I want those dies!!- hey, got a die from this "batch" you haven't used yet? or something NEW you can come up with for next month on the 15th? I have ONE idea but haven't started yet, and going on vacation soon, so it'll be cutting it close.

Very beautiful, Connie. =)
The Cedar river is really high here. Thankfully, not like it was in '08!

Great wall hanging! So cheerful – reminds me of spring and your quilting really sets it off! It's fun to see your river going up and down…the little creek on our property is about ready to disappear since we have been so dry (hoping for some rain today!). Thanks for sharing!!!

I made the mistake of buying Heat'N'Bond Ultra the first time I bought fusible. I didn't use fusible for a couple of years after that- it was such a disaster.
This is beautiful, and I love the quilting on it.

SO jealous of you now even more. You know how much I want those dies. Your wall hanging is beautiful. I was thinking of you and wondering how far the water was up and if it was into your yard yet.

That looks so pretty, Cannie. I love how you have hung it on the rails for the photo. It's a perfect setting for the piece.
