Here is a precious little quilt that I just finished doing some quilting on. This is another quilt project that our neighbor’s wife had started but never got finished and her daughter asked me to finish it for her. I have also finished the vintage butterflies wall hanging that I showed the other day. The little lion had already been quilted around so I did the elephant and giraffe the same way and then some large loopy free motion quilting. The back is a minky fabric and I was really afraid of getting pleats on the back but it quilted up nicely on my vintage Singer sewing machine. I wasn’t sure what to do with the binding as there was no extra fabric but the backing was big enough that I could fold it over for a mock binding. It isn’t perfect but I don’t think a baby will mind. This baby quilt will be packed away for a future great-grandchild.The baby zoo animals are so cute! It almost makes me want to get a embroidery machine!

When I was working on this I remembered that I had bought the AccuQuilt GO! Zoo Animals die……a year or two ago and still haven’t used it! I think I should get it and make a baby quilt! AccuQuilt even has a free quilt pattern!

Oh my gosh, Connie! This is just adorable. I missed this one when you posted it. I’ve been a bit out of it lately, so I’ve been just skimming emails and stuff. I’m going to have to check to see if I bought this die. I can’t remember now. I sat and made a list of every single die I’ve bought and all things Accuquilt so I wouldn’t buy anything twice. And then in all my organizing mess, it all had to be pushed over to allow hubby to set up the shelving unit and that list got lost. ugh. Still haven’t located that and the other things I’d made a list of while working on all that organizing. I really don’t want to redo all that work, so I keep hoping those will turn up soon. LOL
This quilt is just too cute though so I’m hoping I did buy this die.
So cute….
So precious! I”m sure the future baby will love it! I tend to forget which dies I have as well! Time to rummage through them! Thank you for sharing!
Hello Connie! You did a fabulous job finishing the baby quilt, a baby of that family will love it! I adore all of your Aqquilt patterns that you create and share and this one with the animals looks cuddly already. So, I can not wait to see yours. Minky is one of those fabrics that I just do not see myself using even though it is soft and cuddly. The videos I have seen with all of the thread mess, does not appeal to me. I will let other quilters make them. I did have an older embroidery machine that a great friend gave to me when she updated. After 3 months of nonstop trouble, I gave up and will leave it to the artistic quilters who can create masterpieces with their machines. I hope you have a great day!
That is an adorable quilt. The texture on the animals are so sweet!

Your comment about an embrodiery machine. Do I need to talk to Bob, young lady? LOL!
How sweet and so nice of you to finish it. I have seen so many cute baby quilts lately. Such a fun project when we haven’t made one in a while. Thanks for sharing.
Totally cute baby quilt and you are extra sweet to finish it for your neighbor. The Minky on the back works wonderfully with the animals. Cozy and Cuddly…Quilting Bliss <3
The animal quilts make such nice baby quilts and the minky backing is so soft for them.
They really do, I can’t believe I haven’t made one yet!
That baby quilt is so sweet and you know it will be loved by someone. Can’t wait to see your tulip project as that looks pretty interesting.
Thanks Sara! The tulip quilt is beautiful, you’ll love it!
