It is so nice to be able to take photos outside…..with the sun shining and warm weather. I think Spring is finally here. How do you like my new table runner?
I was at the grocery store last week and saw a table runner like this on the back of a quilt magazine so I am sure there is a pattern out there but…..it was easy to see that it was just equilateral triangles. So I went home and found this beautiful autumn border print in my stash and started cutting.
Update: Looking for a pattern for this? Triangle Frenzy Runner would be a great pattern to get!
Here is a photo of the sections sewn together. If you remember the 2 table toppers I showed here you can see it is the same design with a little twist.
I determined the size of my blocks by…….the border fabric design and……how much fabric I had. I’m not sure who I’m giving this too…..my daughter or my friend who already has a couple table runners made with the fabric.
I have been making this table topper for years and it is a favorite gift to make. Have you made any?
I also had a piece of matching tone on tone that I used for the border and sewed the binding on with my sewing machine.
I plan on making a couple more using fabrics that aren’t border prints which should be fun.
I used Superior Bottom Line thread in the top and bobbin for the free motion quilting in a beige color.
Most of the time I don’t sew a label on the back of table runners. I’m in luck, as the backing is muslin so I can write on it with a Micron pen which is my favorite tool for adding a permanent signature to my quilt projects.
