2 New Christmas Quilt Projects

I recently opened the Open Gate Quilts subscription box for November and was really happy with the quilt projects inside! I also did a video showing everything that you might enjoy!

Feathered Star 28″ x 28″

There was fabric and a pattern for a Feathered Star wall hanging that is 28″ x 28″. The pattern also includes a modified Feather Star if you prefer that.

Feathered Star Pieces

I couldn’t wait to cut the fabrics and get to work on the Feathered Star.

Quilted and Finished

I really like the way the wall hanging turned out after being quilted!

Aurifil thread and extra fabric

In the box was a spool of Aurifil thread and an extra fat quarter of holiday fabric.

Decorate the Tree

The next quilt project was a cute little 6″ x 9″ wall hanging called Decorate the Tree. The kit included everything needed to make it including the 6″ Star Hanger from Ackfeld Manufacturing. I found the 12″ Star Hanger from Ackfeld here.

Applique

My Ever Sewn Sparrow 25 sewing machine makes a beautiful blanket stitch and I used that around the tree.

Finished Wall Hanging

Isn’t this just adorable! I added 2 little strips to go over the wooden dowel and stitched them down.

A Peek at the Backs

I used fabrics in my stash for the backing on the Feathered Star, the Decorate the Tree quilt project included the backing.
