Monday Happenings 11 In My Studio

Monday Happenings 11 In My Studio
Rusty loves it when I stay downstairs in my quilt studio and I really made him happy this weekend! I have 4 new finished quilt projects that I will be sharing soon! Two of them were oldies that just needed quilting.
Only one of these was quilting on my Noltings longarm. I used my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine to quilt the others.
Rusty says Hi!

Storing AccuQuilt Dies Correctly
In my quilt studio video I showed my AccuQuilt dies stored incorrectly. I had just moved them to these bookcases and I wasn’t thinking when I stored the dies on top of each other. Where I had them before they were stored like I’m showing below. Someone left me a comment about ruining the dies by storing them that way and I realized I had them stored wrong. I also have bigger ones that are stacked beside my bookcases. I love my AccuQuilt dies and there is a sale going on right now!
I immediately readjusted the shelves and have all of my dies stacked on their sides. Thank you to that subscriber!

Snowdrift Quilt
I have the Snowdrift quilt from Fat Quarter Shop’s December subscription box finished but I am going to make something with the selvages and want to share that at the same time. Be sure to read my post about the box.
I quilted this one on my Noltings long arm and I put a beautiful floral flannel on the back, I can’t wait to show it to you!

Lilac Lace
I haven’t done a blog post about the January Open Gate Quilt box but I did do a Open Gate Quilt video. This is a peek at one of the quilt projects in the box.

Another Open Gate Quilt Project
Open Gate Quilt always has 2 projects in their boxes. I am also working on the smaller quilt project #2. There were fabrics in the box to make a 9 inch quilt block of your choice or use the one they show. I’m going to do some applique on mine.

Brown Table Runner
I have a long table runner that I made some time ago, I’m not even sure when but it is with Island Batik fabrics. Anyway, I found it and decided it was time to finish it.

I also want to share how I made the quilt block so that is coming. I am using my Accuquilt GO Electric cutter and the 12-inch Mix & Match Qube set. Using the dies make it so easy and precise.

Comic Book Boards
I am continuing to put fabric on my Comic Book boards as I sort through my fabrics. I am only doing my batiks. Many of my pieces are leftover from Island Batik projects and are odd sizes so I’ll just keep them folded on my shelves.

Blue River Scraps
The next quilt will be my blue River Scraps quilt and I’ll quilt it on my longarm. I talked more about it in my last Monday Happenings post.

More than one?
Do you like to work on more than one quilt project? I have to admit that I do!
I found another older quilt that I plan on finishing soon and I’m not going to mention the quilt tops hanging in my closet!

Connie, what is the name of the quilt that is in between the purple quilt & the table runner? I love that quilt & would love to make one! 👍🏻😊
Terry ☺️💕
I forgot to thank you for the info about storing Accuquilt dies. I had no idea they could not be stored one on top of the other. I don’t have near as many as you, but fortunately I have always stored them standing up and not on top of each other.
Your quilts, as usual, are lovely. You do such beautiful quilting with your older Singer. You said today’s post was for those with >1 project…..that’s probably all of us. I’ve lost count of my projects, but keep trying to finish them, one by one. I am inspired by your projects to keep moving forward to get them done. I also have a little “sewing buddy” who stays with me wherever I go. She has several pet beds in different rooms and always goes to the “Sewing bed” when I am sewing. Our little ones are great buddies no matter where we are or what we’re doing.
Hello Connie,
Will be leaving on Thursday, January 16 to January 20, 2025 for my annual quilt retreat with one of my quilt guilds. We have seven classes scheduled and I am teaching one of them. Will let you know how that class goes. Just praying that the weather is ok so I can travel the hour and half to get there and then back.
The more I see quilters online, the more I know I am one! I cleaned out my fabric cubbies recently & I found baby quilt fabrics for a half dozen or more quilts! I also have several UFOs that I’ve been working on & a new baby quilt for my newest great grandbaby due in May!
Thanks Connie for showing us your beautiful quilts! Quilt on! 👍🏻😍♥️
Terry
Connie,
I too work on more than one project at a time! Usually one quilt and then small items. I make kennel blankets for the shelter my daughter volunteers at and I usually cut and pin several at a time and then sew them in between quilt steps. My other ‘in between’ projects are pillow cases, table runners, and towels for the oven door. And or anything else I need to finish!
I enjoy your blog and seeing what you’re making. Happy New Year to you, Builder Bob and Rusty. Robbie 🌻
Hi, Rusty! I’m glad you got sewing room time! It makes me happy too!
I always have more than one project going at once. Usually 3 or 4 at once. LOL Keeps me happy!
You have lots of fun things going on.
