Get Ready for National Jelly Roll Day

September 21st is National Jelly Roll Day so you will be seeing all kinds of photos and info on Jelly Roll quilts.

I made my first Jelly Roll quilt back in 2010. I had read about a Mile A Minute quilt and excitedly cut 2½” strips from the fabrics in my stash. I didn’t even think about using coordinated fabrics.

Coordinated Strips

This jelly roll quilt looks so much better! I used a batik jelly roll for it.

I saw a beautiful jelly roll called Kindred and had to have it. I then wanted to get free shipping form Missouri Star Quilt Company so I purchased a few more things!

I also bought the Kindred Charm Pack. Right now they seem to be sold out but you can still search on Missouri Star Quilt Company and get the Kindred Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and Fat Quarters.

Pink Poodle

Isn’t this pink poodle cute! It is 7.75″ x 8″ and would be adorable on a 10 or 12 inch quilt block.

Dragon Flies

These are cute dragon flies in two sizes. These templates are thick and strong.

Raindrops 3 Yard Fabric

This is a great deal! Do a search on Missouri Star Quilt Company for Raindrops and you’ll get a large selection of 3 yard pieces of fabric for on $15.00! I bought beige that will be great for fall quilt projects.

    Hi,
I have only made one large lap from a batik jelly roll, and we called it a jelly roll race. Would love to modernize the colors like from this jelly roll and make either table runners like Connie did or another lap jelly roll race, all for gifts. Thanks to Missouri star for this, just placed an order yesterday. Would love to win.

  2. Awe I love this but my storage is full and won’t let me sign into my Google. I grew up with poodle skirts so sweet.
Hope all is well for you all.
    Blessings June in Tx

  3. Isn’t it kind of sad that we will spend an extra $20, $30, or more (guilty!) just to save $6 in shipping cost!

    1. Yes but that’s a yard of fabric ($6) that we added to our stash 🤣

I have never made a jelly roll quilt. I would love to make one! Sandy

  5. I have made a jelly roll quilt. It’s so easy when you use pre-cuts since some of the cutting is already done for you.
