I hope you enjoy this tutorial for the Evergreen Tree table runner and if you make one I'd love to see it.
Add checkerboards to top and bottom of center piece as shown below.
Now make 2 more checkerboards for the sides.
Each row will have 9 squares in it – 2 rows for each checkerboard.
Your piece should look like this:
Now add your 5 inch borders - Sides first – 5 x 13 ½ inches
Then add top and bottom pieces which are 5 x 31 inches.
Add your appliquéd trees and appliqué in your favorite way.
I used a free motion stippling to attach mine.
Then quilt as desired and bind. I used different fabrics for my checkerboards, borders and trees.
Be sure your printer is set up to print at 100%
- not scaled or reduced to fit.

I have also included a larger tree that can be used on place mats. I'll talk about these later.
I cut mine 12 x 16 and put the tree on the left side of each place mat.
