I thought I would share a small quilt that I made a while ago………..since I haven’t been spending much time in my quilt room.

Sweetheart Disappearing 9 Patch

This is made using the Disappearing 9 Patch block, I have a tutorial for a mini Disappearing 9 Patch table topper that will show you how to cut your blocks.

I had great plans to get pictures of the dogs on the quilt outside but they wouldn’t sit still long enough. The lighting is not good for photos in the basement but I couldn’t resist this one of Kelso sleeping.

I forgot to mention that my grandson is sleeping on the floor in my quilting room as we don’t have a spare bedroom….hmmm wonder why??? Anyway he didn’t want to sleep on the couch because my dad gets up several times in the night and also early in the morning. I forgot how teenage boys can sleep…..and sleep!

I really loved the fabrics in this which were 2 Sweetheart Charm Packs by Benartex.

I used a variegated thread for the quilting and after I washed it I thought it had a look like the colors had bled making the thread all kinds of colors. Now I actually like the way it looks.

I made the four squares and after bordering them decided I needed to add a little something to it.

I just appliqued a few flowers on it. When spring gets here I’ll be ready with a new table topper.

What made me think of this quilt was the fact that it has been in my “to do” pile and when I cleaned my quilt room I put it on top of the pile. Can you see how rippled the binding is? I have more of the fabric and I am going to trim off the old binding, square it up and redo it so it lays flat.
