Today I am sharing a couple table runners that I made using the Checkerboard quilt pattern in the Scrappy Project Planner by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet. I am participating in the Fat Quarter Shop blog tour using the Scrappy Project Planner that I received several months ago from Fat Quarter Shop. This was a perfect project to use some of my batik scraps. Whenever I finish a quilt project I cut up all the scraps so they are ready to use for scrap projects. Some of the pieces I save as strips which was handy for this project.
I used neutral batiks for my background fabrics also. The Scrappy Project Planner has full color images too!
It took no time at all to make one block…….and then another! I couldn’t decide if I wanted to make something with brights or browns.
So I made a couple more blocks of each and decided to make a couple table runners. You can never have too many can you!
We have had some nice weather so it was fun to take my table runners outside. 
Both of them are the same size – 12″ x 30″

How do you get the pattern??? Do you have to buy the book? Can you purchase just the pattern…what a great way to use up scraps.

Amazing how you begin with small scraps and then by sewing them together you have a larger block. The Table Runners are beautiful.
Isn’t it neat! I doubt if I’ll ever be able to use all my scraps!
these are great and totally different feel between them, one is fun and playful the other is very modern and fancy in a way.
