Mini Scattered quilt

Scattered Origins

The other day I received an email from someone asking if a Layer Cake could be used with my Scattered pattern. I emailed back and said I thought so, it would just have a different look with all of the different fabrics. That was enough to make me look in my stash for a Layer Cake and try out the pattern. It will work.

I also made a mini Scattered quilt with the fabrics.

Scattered Origins

Several years ago I bought Origins by Basic Grey as a layer cake, then a jelly roll and even some yardage. I did use a little bit of it when I made my Tinker Tote, now it is time to use the rest of it.

Scattered Origins

Did the Scattered quilt above look a little small? It is actually a mini that I experimented with after I made sure the quilt could be made out of a layer cake. I also have a blog post showing the regular size Scattered and the Mini.

Scattered Origins

If you have the Scattered pattern and would like to use a layer cake, cut your largest squares first. I have all the blocks started for my regular size Scattered…..now to move on to the next step.

Iggy seems to like the miniature Scattered……it seems a perfect color for him

I love your quilt top, Connie! Even though you used dark brown, it looks bright and cheerful. There's a feeling of happiness in this mix of fabric that I love. 🙂

Scattered is how I feel these days. If only I looked as good as Iggy! Your work is amazing dear. This is a beautiful quilt.

  9. I have to say that when I saw this quilt it reminded me of the kitchen floor my mom had in the 70s. That is not to say I don't love it because I do. I actually would love to complete this in black, white and bright blue fabrics. Future thoughts.

  10. Beautiful. I have some Christmas fabrics pulled to make this pattern but promised myself I can't start it until I finish one more UFO.
