Today I am sharing my Pumpkin Fest Table Runner which is perfect for the fall season.

I mentioned the other day that all of the Island Batik ambassadors are sharing pumpkin projects this month for the Pumpkin Fest.

I decided to make yet another table runner…..runners are my favorite fast and easy quilt projects.

18 x 38 Table Runner

Cut a background piece of fabric that is at least 18-inches x 38-inches or the size that would work on your table. 18 inches wide by 38 inches long works great on my new coffee table.

This table runner is a little wider than I usually make

I received this group of fall colors in my Island Batik Ambassador box and they are perfect for the leaves and pumpkins.

For a fast and easy project, there is nothing easier than using my AccuQuilt Electric Die cutter and a few dies.

The maple leaf and pumpkin that are part of the Fall Medley die set is the first die I ever bought.

I recently received this neat Rick Rack die which has two different sizes of rick rack which makes me think of ribbons. – I have lots of plans for this die!

I bet you thought you would be seeing more photos of little Sadie…..you will but I found this super cute cookie jar while up in Minnesota and just had to buy it.

This is a huge die, it is 6 inches wide by 24 inches long and is made so you can cut rick rack longer than that. The die has a one-inch and two-inch rick rack. I just cut a narrow strip of fabric and cut the one-inch piece.

I think it looks a little bit like Sadie……maybe I should dye her hair!

You can find other ambassador projects on the Pumpkin Fest Pinterest board.

I applied Heat & Bond Lite to my fabrics before cutting out the shapes.

For the background, I used a neutral print and cut it a little bigger than the size I wanted for the table runner.

I didn’t use any fusible on the rick rack, instead, I used an Elmer’s Washable School Glue stick and a couple of pins to hold it in place before I stitched to the fabric.

Once I had the rick rack stitched down, I added the maple leaves and pumpkins. I used my vintage 15-91 Singer to free motion applique around the pieces.

The weather was beautiful yesterday and we took Sadie to a park near our house. I was actually looking for acorns but the trees are empty this year.

Here are a few other quilt projects I’ve made with the maple leaves and pumpkins and some photos of our trip with Sadie to visit Bob’s mom. Pumpkins and Sadie.
