I want to wish everyone Happy Mother’s Day! It was a surprise to realize our anniversary was on Mother’s Day this year, how special!
15 Year Anniversary
It is our 15th year anniversary and we are getting ready to move into our 6th house! We do keep busy and might be a little crazy!
Dinner on a train
Bob the Builder surprised me with a dinner on the Boone Scenic Valley Train. It was a 2-hour dinner and of course, I had wine! The food was great.

When I was a teen, my grandmother would take me to Chicago for the weekend and we would go on a train. It was so special to eat in the dining car and this brought back such wonderful memories!
There was a viewing deck on the back of the train, look at this beautiful view! The train crosses the 156-foot-tall Bass Point Creek High Bridge, as well as the Des Moines River, on its journey through the river valley

I love how you can see the reflection of the light on our table. This is the Des Moines river that we crossed over.

Happy anniversary! What a fun way to celebrate! When I was little my mother and I would get on the train in our little town in Minnesota, and go into Minneapolis. And every spring the senior class would take the train to Chicago for their class trip. But when I was a senior in high school the passenger train quit stopping there.

What a lovely way for your and Bob to celebrate Mother’s Day and your 15th Anniversary. The scenery from the train is beautiful. If moving around suits both of you, as it obviously does, then go for it. Life is to be lived and your house moves are quite exciting compared with staying put and wishing you were somewhere else.
Happiness is how you live your lives and you and Bob are both special people in my opinion. You give so much to others and Bob is there to support you.

What a fantastic Anniversary event! Happy Mothers Day too! It is absolutely essential for us to mark and celebrate holidays and special personal moments in life. Listen to me, any man who builds as he does and moves as often as you two do is a keeper! We were thrilled having dinner on the train from Paris to Rome, The food is actually a side note to the scenery and the experience, IMO. Thanks for sharing your special day.

What a lovely Mother’s Day and Anniversary present. Although i live in England my husband and i used to live in America, Long Island for 8 years and we did visit Des Moine, Iowa. I always remember a lot of corn growing ! 🤭. What a lovely treat for you. Best wishes

I love to travel by train when I can, and the dining car is always my favorite part of the experience – even on Amtrak where they just put you wherever there is an available seat! Essentially, you eat your meal with total strangers almost every time you’re in there, and it’s great!! I wish my husband were creative enough to think of a gift like that.
Happy Anniversary! Happy Mothers Day! My children all have children and greats, so my daughter and I had lunch and a shopping trip yesterday, Saturday, so they can be with thiers today. I use to live in Sioux City, 1953, like you we moved every 3years, I’m a retired Army spouse.
