January Quilt UFO Finished!
My January quilt UFO is finished! I lucked out with this UFO, I only needed to finish quilting 2 placemats for a completed set. I even had the binding ready for them. I wonder why I quit working on this.
This was the easiest UFO that I had, I wonder what the number will be for next month in the All People Quilt Challenge – I shared all 12 of my UFOs for the 2017 year. I’m really hoping #7 doesn’t get picked for February (it is a biggie) although I just ordered a bolt of Hobbs 80/20 batting as I only have enough left for small projects.
On Friday little Sadie went to the salon for a bath, trim and nails. She was beautiful when done! What a difference trimming the hair away from her face……of course she still isn’t crazy about getting her picture taken. She had just rolled over and had one ear up in the air…..how cute!I pulled out my Hopscotch quilt for a backdrop, it was made with the same batiks as the place mats and table topper. This is a super easy pattern to make.
Evidently I started this quilt project back in June of 2016. I love that I can look at my photos and see the date that I took the pictures. At that time we have a round oak table….hmmmm……I don’t think these are going to work on my new square table. I had been wanting a small square table forever, in fact we tried to find one with high chairs for our deck after we finished the roof cover but everything was sold out. I’m glad we didn’t find one as we now realize that a small square table doesn’t have quite enough room for 3 or 4 people and the food.
We are now looking for a rectangle table with 6 high chairs for a deck….boy are they expensive! Maybe I’ll be able to use the placemats and table topper out there.
Otherwise we’ll just have our Pelly look alike sit on it.
I will do a tutorial on the placemats and table topper soon. I was using the Island Batik Desert Rose batiks for a Drunkards Path table runner and I think I used the leftovers for this project. I’m trying to figure out why I made my blocks the size I did. I’ll get it figured out and share it soon.
In the mean time you might have missed my tutorial for the same size of placemats. I also shared the template.
I hope you enjoyed my January quilt UFO, it is a good feeling to have ONE done!

Connie dear did you see something “shiny” and your focus went elsewhere? Lovely UFO finish. Tables annd chairs are very expensive. Sadie look super cute and I like this photo you got with the ear in flight. Love your projects!!! XO

The placemats and topper look great. That is the problem with a small table. Hope you can find a bigger one at a reasonable price.
Sadie looks so cute all groomed.

Isn’t it funny why some projects never get finished? Glad you got this in the Done Pile! Your Sadie is such a cutie 🙂

Awww Pelly again! I truly loved following his story. Please do the tutorial on the placemats. I love them and the shape is perfect for my daughter’s table.

Your placemats and table topper are very pretty. I really like the colors. Sadie is getting to be quite the glamour girl.
