First WordPress Post

This has really been a busy week! Tuesday was spent babysitting my grandkids, then I came home Wednesday and I can’t even remember what I did that day other than I know I went to bed early!
Builder Bob has been working on a remodel job but took the day off on Thursday as it was my birthday. We spent the day shopping and…..eating! We tried out a new-to-us restaurant called LongHorn Steakhouse. We’ll be going back again!
Guess what I had….my favorite! Lobster and steak, I also had a couple of Moscow Mules and we ended up ordering some Moscow Mule mugs.
Friday I headed back to my daughters for an evening of babysitting. Since I don’t like to cook…I let the girls pick where they wanted to eat…..Steak n Shake….a favorite of mine also!
I had to include two photos as they were really characters when I was trying to get a picture.
Save this for later!
Don't worry, I promise not to spam you.
Today it was beautiful outside so I spent the morning cleaning up the last of my flower beds. I can’t have a post without something about quilting! I am working on my April Showers project that I am doing.
This month the Island Batik Ambassadors are showing projects using new batik collections. I am working with the Red Tide collection and here is a sneak peek at what I’m creating.
There is one other thing I’ve been working on……….I am switching to WordPress and self-hosting. Things may not work perfectly at first but please stick with me. It will take me a little bit to figure out the correct size for my graphics and find the best way to show things on my site.
Thankfully I have help as this is a huge undertaking – I have over 1400 posts. It will take a bit to get everything figured out but I know I’m really going to like the change.
If you would like to leave a comment you can find that at the top of the post now. There are all kinds of other things I think I am supposed to fill out…..document title, and meta description….I’ll leave them blank for now.
Since this is a strange post with a mixture of family, quilting, blog info and….I decided to add this photo I shared on Facebook on my birthday. Enjoy!
I love your new short haircut!! Looks good.
I know I replied on Facebook to the picture of you riding whatever that was, but I did not realize you had a blog post. Sorry. I just got the notification for this post this morning. They used to be the next day, but now this was 2 days later and one I received on Saturday was from a week ago and had a whole group of posts in that one which I’ve never seen. I don’t know if this is Charter (although as of now yours is the only one I’m seeing this) or if you have started moving things so the notifications are being goofy from that or what.
Whatever is going on, I’m sorry for not responding to your posts as quickly as I have in the past. It’s not intentional and I wanted to be sure you know this.
We haven’t been to Longhorn yet. They opened one near us at least a year ago. We’ve always gone to Lone Star which is across the street from them. We really should try them too, but gosh, they are always so busy. Lone Star is too and I suppose it’s breaking the habit of going to the same places all the time is the bigger reason.
Happy Birthday, Connie!!! Such fun photos 🙂

Happy belated birthday. Love the photo on the porpoise. That is something I would do too.
Happy Birthday to You!!
Happy Birthday!
Happy 29 Connie! Your babies and hubby pictures are great – and of course your birthday picture is very nice. I like the Umbrellas. Yes WordPress can be intimidating, but I really do like it. I have upgraded, but have not redone my Blog – I think that will come in May.
Hope you had a great birthday, you Granddaughters look as if they are having a wonderful time. Your batik project looks interesting, looking forward seeing more of it.
Happy Birthday to one of my two favorite Bloggers.
Oh thought I’d lost you forever! New computer things arethe pits!
Your grand daughters are lovely. They look like fun.
Happy Birthday and may our ride many more years.
Happy belated Birthday:-) I love the picture of your granddaughers. I also like Longhorn Steakhouse and Steak & Shake. Both my favs. Looks like you had a nice birthday and a very busy week!
Hahahah! I love your sturgeon riding photo Connie! All the photos are great! Builder Bob looks like he could be saying Liam Neeson’s “what I do have are a very particular set of skills” speech. LOL
That sounds and looks like the perfect birthday week!
Moscow mules must be the drink to have these days! I just discovered them. Enjoy your new cups. Cheers to this birthday and many more!
Happy birthday!!! Looks like it was a blast! Mine was Tuesday 😉
Happy Birthday. And, I agree – you are never to old to have fun and enjoy all life has to offer. Keep on celebrating.

Happy birthday Connie, it sure looks like you had a fun day. I’ve had fun today making one of your patterns. I’ll link my finish on your Tuesday link.
I had no idea (or maybe I just didn’t remember) that we share the same birthday. I bet I’m older!
Happy Birhday Dear. I ADORE the photo of riding the wild dolphin. Good Luck with your WordPress blogging. Adorable Granddaughters. I always enjoy your Island Batik projects. Happy Birthday and keep celebrating every day…
Happy Birthday, Connie. I am enjoying your new layout/format. I feel like such a “newbie” in the blogging world, and I really am not. But I think I am a slow learner.
longhorn is great, the best steak around
Happy Birthday! Hope you have many more filled with love, laughter…and quilts!
Happy Birthday, Connie and congratulations on the transfer. I know it will take awhile before you get it all the way you want, but you are off to a good start.
Happy birthday! Your granddaughters are lovely and you need to ride that shark (dolphin?) more often.
Hi Connie, your comment form will still be at the bottom of the individual posts – it was for me to leave this comment. The ‘leave a comment’ at the top will change to the number of comments on that post – that is if it works like the WordPress I am using. I do know there is more than one version of WordPress. Congratulations on your new look! Happy Birthday!
